so you prefer the ones where they turn up the traction control and crank up the down force so you can turn right and left no matter how fast you are going.....might as well watch slot car racing

I like racing with strategy and excitement. NASCAR reminds me of Interstate 405 between Renton and Bellevue, WA during rush hour. A HERD of cars flying down the road...except on 405 there's the occasional off ramp or car pool lane to make things interesting. A big ass circle which guys drive for HOURS is NOT entertainment.

Would THIS pic be COOLER if it were on a big oval track?

NASCAR has changed from the late 60's, when I started watching. Use to be about equipment, strategy, and the driver. Now, its really more about the driver, but MONEY is playing a bigger part than it ever has.

Oh, and I should mention, its about the SHOW. Never should ANYONE think its not about the show.

I don't watch as much NASCAR as I use too, even though there is more on than ever. I DO stay abreast of the drivers standings, and some other "insider" stuff.

JPM will me a large factor in NASCAR this year, and I don't mean JUST racing.

He is a talent, and has access to the best equipment, so he should do well on the track. But, more than that, I think some F1 folks will sneak a peak, and with F1 becoming sooooooooooooooooooo boring, they may become regulars.

If you want to know how NOT to run a series, just watch the wingnuts that have being doing a stellar job of running it into the ground.

I still watch F1, and most any other racing that's around, but I have to hand it too the "good old boy's" from NASCAR, they DO know how to do it.

I watched the duel qualifiers, and will be front and center on Sunday for the Daytona 500.

Gentlemen, START YOUR ENGINES.......:cheers2:

I like to watch only for the accidents and pile-ups. You don't get that kind of excitement with F1 (or any other racing circuit). I mean, where else can you watch a 15 car pile-up, and not be in the sonofabitch?

Then the redneck jokes. Ok, fine, comes with the territory, because of NASCAR's roots and audience base. However, the pit crews and mechanics in this sport, know more about physics, engineering & aerodynamics than most NASA employees. Not just dumb redneck greasemonkeys tinkering with 750+hp engine.

Love NASCAR -- my ex and I had a sprint car for a few years. We also built a sand drag track and played with those cars for a few years. Also had a flat bottom Hondo we raced at Lake Ming.

Love going fast...............and the tingle between the ears when they go past.

Rooted for Biffle last year - but our new driver is Casey Mears this year.

Yeah - probably so.

I have Mario and Michael Andretti, Rick Mears and Danny Sullivan's autographs.

My ex and I were VIP at one of the Long Beach Indy races and we were in the pits.

My husband was on the helicopter that brough Greg Biffle and his crew into Infinion for last years NASCAR race and he was in the Biffle pit all day and then flew with them back to the airport.

Plus - I think I mentioned that we (ex) used to race a sprint car...... we know all the Outlaws and all the CA drivers from the 1980's to mid 1990's.

I like Nascar too fuzzy. I have several family members that are big time into it. My 18 year old brother has a room filled solid with Nascar stuff, Jeff Gordon is his fav.

That race was heart breaking!!!

If all car races were like the last lap of the Daytona 500, I would watch more often. Gotta love wrecks at 180 mph. :cheers2:

NO. I said you can't BLOCK them all, simply because they're needed for entertainment purposes. Then getting banned is like the giant circle of life - you're just making room for the stronger.
