Here is an example of how the media reacts depending on what party the person inhabits.
Once upon a time, the phrase "investigative reporter" actually meant something. It usually involved hard work, possibly even mentation. Now, it seems, they just make stuff up. Especially on the Fox News Channel, where an uninitiated viewer could easily think she/he had tuned in Comedy Central. It's "Chandra-Chandra-Chandra" with the occasional "Condit is just like Clinton" thrown in. Given our media's 24/7 obsession with the Gary Condit "scandal", you might assume that there is a real dearth of hard news to pursue.
In reality, there is indeed a news story percolating out there. The story bears remarkable and ironic similarities to the Condit/Levy story. Both involve Congressmen, rumors of infidelity, and the fate of a younger female subordinate. The details are so similar as to remind one of two alternate universes. The difference between the two stories? First, in the Klausutis case as not in the Levy case, there is a real body, very dead. Second, the Klausutis case involves a Republican.
The story had a brief flutter in the Northwest Florida press, which ran a few very short stories on Lori's death. With the exception of the Northwest Florida Daily News, they were of the "Aw-what-a-shame/ nothing-to-see-here-move-along-now-folks" variety. But nationally, this mysterious death earned a mere one paragraph mention in The Washington Post's NATION IN BRIEF column:
"FORT WALTON BEACH, FL. - Lori Klausutis, a 28-year-old office worker for Rep. Joe Scarborough (R-Fl), was found dead in the congressman's district office. Police said preliminary findings from the medical examiner's office showed no foul play or any outward indication of suicide."
Unbelievably, that was it. The story was simply dropped. A young female employee of one of Florida's Congressmen had died unexpectedly in the Congressman's office. There were no witnesses to her death and the cause of death was not apparent. Klausutis' boss, Joe Scarborough had recently resigned from Congress prematurely and unexpectedly, amid rumors about his marital fidelity and soon after a divorce. He had also abruptly resigned as publisher of the Independent Florida Sun, claiming that resigning from Congress and as publisher was necessary to spend more time with his sons.

she was killed to cover up the truth about 911.....
http://tomflocco.com/fs/911WidowQuestions.htm
Sources within United States intelligence Special Operations Group told us yesterday that former congressional staff aide Lori Kaye Klausutis was found dead at her desk in Scarborough’s office and that she had been reading secret explosive “True Colors” documents, raising questions as to how and why Scarborough was in possession of transcripts detailing illegal covert operations conducted by and linked directly to White House crime families.
U.S. intelligence officials were specific in their reports that “a P-2 team of three operatives from Central Intelligence suffocated her in Scarborough’s Florida district office recently after his divorce,” information blacked out by all U.S. national media outlets.
The source told us he would be willing to come forward at a later date if subpoenaed by the Fitzgerald grand jury or possibly appear on a major cable news outlet.
Intelligence officials said the top-secret True Colors files dealt with 1) government involvement in the 9-11 attacks, 2) White House-sponsored “death squads”—including state and local police known as “red squad” units also involving FBI Division 5 and other federal counter-intelligence groups within government agencies, 3) the Oklahoma City bombing and 4) evidence involving some 150 witnesses implicating former President George H. W. Bush, former President Bill and First Lady Hillary Clinton and then-Texas Governor George W. Bush and others in the assassination of John F. Kennedy Jr., who told family members he was planning to run against Hillary Clinton or George W. Bush in 2000.

Berkland concluded that she had suffered a severe cardiac arrhythmia, or abnormal heart rhythm, which had stopped her heart, causing her to go unconscious and fall, hitting her head on the corner of the desk on her way down. He did not explain how he had ruled out an attack. He said, "We know for a fact she wasn't whacked in the head because of the nature of the injury." A few days later he told the press, "There is no doubt that the head injury is a result of a fall rather than a blow being delivered to the head by a moving object."
Neither of these statements is supported by the medical literature. Quite the contrary. George and Wright quote from a 1997 study of closed head injuries, "In physical terms, the difference between the head moving or being stationary on impact is solely in the frame of reference. There is no physical difference between the forces involved in a stationary head being hit or a moving head striking a fixed object."
Furthermore, neither the police report nor the autopsy contain a drawing of the room in which Lori was found, or of the position of her body relative to the furniture. According to Chris George, Juanita Bergmann, the woman who discovered Lori's body, told George that she found the body near a chair, not near the desk.
While two police officers apparently witnessed Lori's autopsy, this fact alone offers no support for Berkland's conclusions. Indeed, there seems to be no more support for a determination of accidental death than of homicide.
According to Wright and George, Berkland's conclusion that a contracoup injury -- the internal bruise on the opposite side of the brain from the fracture -- was "completely consistent with an unconscious person's fall and totally inconsistent with a physical assault," is contradicted by the medical literature.
Why did Berkland make such blatantly unsupported claims? Did he simply not know better? Or did he have other reasons?
Here was a woman found dead in the office of a popular United States congressman who seemed to be in the midst of falling from public grace -- or was he? there are rumors that he is now a talking head for Fox Television -- in a highly conservative Republican community which had strong ties to an Air Force base at which the victim's husband was involved in highly sensitive weapons design!

It seems the associate medical examiner who did the autopsy has a few problems?
Associate medical examiner suspended in licensing flap
FORT WALTON BEACH, AP -- An associate medical examiner in the Florida Panhandle has been suspended after his Missouri doctor's license was revoked.
The suspension initially will be with pay because Dr. Michael Berkland had accumulated leave time he has not yet taken, said Dr. Gary Cumberland, the acting district medical examiner, at his Pensacola office Monday.
Berkland, based in Fort Walton Beach, is appealing his Missouri revocation. His job suspension will be in effect while the Florida Board of Osteopathic Medicine reviews his case. That panel can decide to take no action or suspend or revoke his Florida license. It also could fine him.
The Missouri license revocation stemmed from Berkland's 1996 firing as a contract medical examiner in Jackson County, Mo., which includes Kansas City, in a dispute over his caseload and autopsy reports.
Berkland had incorrectly stated on the reports that he had taken sections of several brains to be preserved as specimens for medical conferences and teaching purposes. He called them "proofreading errors" and the Missouri attorney general's office found they did not jeopardize any criminal cases.
The Missouri State Board of Registration for the Healing Arts nevertheless obtained a court order prohibiting Berkland from performing autopsies there, which he also is appealing. The Missouri Administrative Hearing Commission then ruled he was subject to discipline against his license for misrepresentation or unethical conduct and knowingly making a false statement in the autopsy reports

Yet, despite all that, there is still no solid evidence pointing directly to homicide. Or at least that's what your other article stated.

Yeah, yeah, it's pretty sick. But, who are George and Wright and what makes them able to interpret medical reports in comparison to what a medical journal might say? What is the title of the journal......citation needed.
Other than the fact that the doctor is an obvious quack, what makes their analysis qualified? Also, where is the documentation of any cross examination? You know, where other experts are called and asked their expert opinion.....people like doctors, with first and last names, along with a breif description of their CV. That happens in court, first the expert has to defend their authority on the matter in question, then they give their opinion. Trust me, I've seen t housands and thousands of REAL court documents.

That was the point the study was making.
An uncited study in no way supports any claims made by anyone. The reference was made with respect to closed head injuries. That is, the damage to her brain INSIDE, caused by being hit or the head hitting and object. Yes, that is was contributed to her death, but I was speaking about marks on the OUTSIDE of her head that might tell a better story. Where marks on the OUTSIDE consistent with a crow bar or a desk edge?
There is no way to tell from the injury and the blood pooling that it was NOT a inflicted injury.
How do you know this? Again, you're deciding based on someone paraphrasing from a uncited study supposedly done on close head injuries? And, location of blood pooling vs initial injury could be indicative of other things, such as movement of the body. That's why it interests me. Injury can be sustained away from the initial site contact, but I forget what type of injuries she had now, so I'll let that point drop for now..
I dont claim to know what happened in this case but things like this and the woman who found her saying she was not near a desk when found and her family refuting that she had any preexsisting health problems which make this worth some news coverage.

I guess. :laugh2: Make a good 'Cold Case' episode. I'm even willing to believe something is fishy, but not based on what's presented in this thread. *shrug*

I have still heard no good reason why this story was treated differently by a so called liberal media?
You see they could have plastered this one all over the place just like they did Chandra Levi story.
One was a Dem congressman and one was a Republican congressman.
They picked one to non stop 24/7 cover.
why would they pick the Dem?
Question is why didn't they...repeat this over and over you dim-wit....
"One Congressman, One dead girl...chapaquitic".
Then ask your lame ASS questions.

Joe resigned his seat after being there just six months.
The Dr who performed the autopsy was later fired for incompetance.
Why was it The Chandra Levy case was a big deal which destroyed Conduits carreer yet Scarbourgh divorced his wife and moved onto a big media carreer afterwards.
You people did not even know about Lori did you?
You do get the huge difference between being in a public office after being implicated in the disappearance of a young woman and a dirtbag getting divorced, right?
What a freakin' loon!

There was no coverage because he was a republican.
The myth of a liberal news is just that.
If he had been a democrat the Corporate news would have hammered it just like the Levi story.
I love to watch the people with no real answers resort to silly personal attacks.
It a sign of victory for the facts.
Thank you, TM---you're a wonderful person for enlightening everyone!!!

Wow, 4 pages and we never do come up with an answer on why, oh why, the Lori case didn't make more headlines.
There's many other stories I would like answers to; yes, I have put on my tinfoil hat to play:
http://www.etherzone.com/body.html
Those Clinton years of pre-presidency and presidency body counts. So many, so little time. Can you believe how the MSM covered them up?

Marilyn Monroe, who's to say she wasn't offed at the behest of the Kennedy administration? Hmmm????
