Deliver the goods or services to you customers or clients, trying to exceed their expectations.

COLLECT YOUR MONEY.

This works for most successful businesses in the capitalist marketplace.

Don't open the business until you know who your potential customer is that you have identified as ripe.

Focus your advertising and sales people on your planned target, don't waste your time on the fringe or possible customers....but on who you know should be your customer.

Check out your competition and their services and their prices, making sure you are competitive or have an "edge".

Don't make promises you can't keep to your customer.

Have backers or additional money that you can pull from when you run out of your own, which you will.... :)

network, network... attend functions of like business... if capital is small, consider a virtual office or renting a small office in another business, just don't get stuck in a long lease.

offer the best product you can, most businesses fail because it is clear the people are in it only for the money and do a shotty job of taking of the customer.

2. Have at least 6 months of capital to live on.
3. Incorporate <--- very important
4. Secure a business line of credit.
5. Do what you say. Bad rep is worse than good rep.
6. Get your name out there. Shake hands, introduce yourself.
7. Most businesses fail within the first 5 years. Don't be a casualty.

If it just clients you are concerned with Newclientsinc is who you should see. They have an excellent program to set up cold calls for you. The internet name is what I posted I think. It has been quite a while since I had use for them.

2. Having success depends on the type of business, and if you know what your selling.
3. The better you understand the product/service, the better you can convince the buyer to buy from you.
4. Another thing, the customer has to be able to like you, if they don't, its very hard for them to commit to buying whatever your selling.
5. I can start a new business on 500.00 bucks, but I have enough businesses already.

I think its better to determine a service that is lacking in your geographical area and area of expertise. Once you figger that out you should already have a good idea of who the potential clients are.

join a professional association that pertains to your type of business so you can network and get ideas.

professional associations, generally meet atleast once a year if not more, any many are local as well.

also, look in any local library, or online for information
