View Full Version : Religious Rant

People go way overboard with this religious nonsense. They spend over an hour a week(sometimes multiple hours) that they will never get back at some church praying to something that they have no clue exists. Then they donate money to the church so the priests can take little boys on outings. Then they spend countless hours praying to someone they don't know exists based on one of the greatest fictional books ever read. Then it incourages wack jobs like this guy who killed and cooked his girlfriend to kill in "Gods" name.

Then people spend billions of dollars a year on so called religious items. God is big business.

If you are religious you shouldn't have to spend money, plaster Jesus stickers all over your car, wear Jesus clothes and jewlry or spend countless hours at a church worshipping a god just so you will goto "Heaven". Blah. People need to charish the limited time they have here not spend it praying 24/7. That shouldn't matter to God, unless he is egotistical which the bible makes him out to be.

Dont even get me started on the bible. Let's just say a lot of what is in there can be explained by science like the whole plagues of Egypt and Moses Parting the Red Sea.

People are suckers.

There are just as many people out there, that spend countless hours at strip clubs, bars and casinos and they will never get back the time spent in them, yet you don't seem concerned about them even though they are more than likely spending billions of dollars in them for nothing more than a good time..

Its called FAITH for a reason moron....

Then they donate money to the church so the priests can take little boys on outings

As for "donating" is that not their CHOICE or would you take that right away from them so they can spend their money on something YOU feel is better like the above mentioned establishments..

Then they spend countless hours praying to someone they don't know exists based on one of the greatest fictional books ever read.

prove it's fiction will you!!! or are you once again talking out your backside??

Then it incourages wack jobs like this guy who killed and cooked his girlfriend to kill in "Gods" name.

Show me the passage that encourages this, than I will discuss this with you but untill then its is nothing more than a psychotic nut trying to use a insanity defense

Then people spend billions of dollars a year on so called religious items. God is big business.

People spend "billions of dollars trying to dress and look like the stars they look up to, not to mention the amount of money spent on athletic sportsware like NFL, NBA, MLB shirts and other attire yet I dont see you bitching about those...

If you are religious you shouldn't have to spend money, plaster Jesus stickers all over your car, wear Jesus clothes and jewlry or spend countless hours at a church worshipping a god just so you will goto "Heaven".

This is the only portion of your "rant" that I can agree with if you had stuck wtih this you might have gotten somewhere but you had to go for all the other BS..

Blah. People need to charish the limited time they have here not spend it praying 24/7. That shouldn't matter to God, unless he is egotistical which the bible makes him out to be.

Last time I checked God is full of Grace, Forgiveness, Tolerance and Mercy. How can you call that egotiostical?? He is willing to even let a person like you into Heaven all you have to do is ask for forgiveness and it will be yours

Dont even get me started on the bible. Let's just say a lot of what is in there can be explained by science like the whole plagues of Egypt and Moses Parting the Red Sea.

Please expalin the two examples you gave "by science" without speculation or "maybe" or "perhaps", I want COLD HARD SCIENTIFIC FACT...

They spend over an hour a week(sometimes multiple hours) that they will never get back at some church praying to something that they have no clue exists.

DUDE, how much $$ have you spent buying movies? According to your posts, you own more movies than I have I ever seen. What is your return?

Then they donate money to the church so the priests can take little boys on outings.

Are you an idiot? Can I say that just because some people from NV commit crimes, that ALL people from NM commit crimes?

Then they spend countless hours praying to someone they don't know exists based on one of the greatest fictional books ever read.

How are those movies coming........you know the movies you watch all the time and post here on the time on. Those are real........right?

The same thing goes for folks who spend all of their time on the internet posting things like , or "I agree", or "Go McCain".

Then they donate money to the church so the priests can take little boys on outings.

Flashbacks? Were you buggered by a priest?

If He doesn't exist, so what? At least they lived a better life than you.

And living in Nevada makes you a problem gambler.

When folks go to church they at least get something out of it so they don't feel that its an hour they'll never get back.
Now, reading and responding to this thread.... there's 45 wasted seconds that I'll never get back.

:poke: go re-read the constitution and find out where your will, while living within the law, is not "free" under the constitution. further, the constitution enables and grants rights, not free will.

your rant is nothing more than wimpering cry for help, i suggest reading the bible... :)

Unfortunately, a lot of the world doesn't get free will.

Religion has its good and bad points.

Everyone has free will...Now...it's just that some faiths, such as Islam, tend to kill those who EXPRESS it or ACT upon it.

Still, they have the free-will to leave Islam and it's tyranny.

I was thinking more along the lines of dictatorships like N Korea, China, Zimbabwe, Gabon and places like that.

There are some Islamic countries that it is best to steer clear of for sure..

Do not know where to start with the bad points. I guess the interpretation of some leaves a lot to be desired. Some of the Imans interpret the Koran in a certain way (those that support Sharia law). Some realy hardcore Christians interpret the bible in a certain way. I am a non-religious person, so I guess I see the down sides more readily than non-religious people.

I agree with your last paragraph.

God doesn't give me free will, the Constitution does. :salute:

If mankind needed a constitution to have freedom of the will, we would have none, as tyrants would never grant us a will free to differ from theirs or a constitution that would limit their autocracy. A constitution merely helps to guard certain freedoms so that we can act on the decisions that our pre-existing free will enables us to make.

As for the anti-religious rant... do you honestly not see the irony implicit in wasting your time complaining on the internet about how other people waste their time? Because It just about hit me over the head with a sledgehammer.
