Do you want to know why this pisses me off so much? It's because it's sanctioned hatred. If Miss Jong said the same thing about blacks, she'd be denounced as a racist and forced to apologize and probably would be fired from her job. If she said the same thing about Jews, she'd be labelled an anti-Semite and again, either have to apologize, lose her job or both. If she said something like this about gays...... Jesus Lord help us.... it would be Matthew Shepherd all over again and every swooshy, limp wristed, lisping male would take to the streets and burned her in effigy. If this person had made the same remarks about women, there would be lawsuits by the NOW, and every left wing female would be elbowing each other to denounce her first....

Erica Jong wrote "Fear of Flying" back in the 1970s. From what I remember, it was a piece of pornographic trash that "celebrated" women's sexual liberation.

I guess the Huffington Post ought to have porn stars (oh, excuse me, "adult movie actors") contribute, too.

Feminism (at least the brand practiced by Miss Jong and her ilk) is just another type of hatred. It isn't about doing what's best for women or improving the human condition. If it were, then the NOW would be applauding George Bush for freeing Afghan women from the clutches of the Taliban and helping improve the lot of people (and as a result, women) in Iraq.
