Governor Huckabee Signs ABI's 'No-Amnesty' Pledge

(January 17) On Wednesday afternoon, Governor Mike Huckabee became the first presidential candidate to sign Americans for Better Immigration's (ABI) "No-Amnesty" pledge. He is the fourth candidate to earn ABI's EXCELLENT rating on a promise to oppose amnesties and to cause illegal aliens to return home. Joined by ABI's President Roy Beck in South Carolina, Huckabee promised, if elected, he would "fully implement enforcement measures that, over time, will lead to the attrition of our illegal immigrant population."

Huckabee Vows To Send All Illegal Aliens Home

January 17, 2008

TIGERVILLE, S.C. — Former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee yesterday continued to move to the right on immigration during this year's presidential campaign, signing a pledge to enforce immigration laws and to make all illegal aliens go home.

The pledge, offered by immigration control advocacy group Numbers USA, commits Mr. Huckabee to oppose a new path to citizenship for current illegal aliens and to cut the number of illegal aliens already in the country through attrition by law enforcement — something Mr. Huckabee said he will achieve through his nine-point immigration plan.

"Some would say it's a tough plan. It is, but it's also fair and reasonable," Mr. Huckabee said.

Politicians on either side have a great excuse for not following through on promises.

"Well, I tried, but the opposition stopped me."

So as long as his intentions seem good, then the actions that result are not as important.
******
Just remember......."Read my lips, no new taxes.".

Hey, I'm not a liberal, but there's an example of a promise from a guy that seemed pretty genuine too. When he failed or reneged, Clinton, and Perot made him "toast" in his bid for re-election.

Once again talking about something you know nothing about. Shouldn't you be out assaulting people or vandelizing companies who don't support Ron Paul like the rest of the Paultards do?

Uncalled for.

McCain was all for the biggest amnesty in American history, and lead the pack to push it through. If that truth gets your undies in a bundle, take it up with liberal asswad McCain, don't take it out on someone who brings it up.

He still gets an *ABYSMAL* rating on illegal immigration. Click on the banner in my signature, read up on your knight in shining armor. He's a stinking illegal alien coddling, liberal thinking, piece of SHIT!

Senator McCain didn't lead the pack, Senator Kennedy did. Senator McCain was for locking up the borders getting more agents, it was a compromise and he also changed his position.

For the umteenth time, he has NOT changed his position. His position is clear enough the same, on his website. Why do you keep lying? At this point it's nothing else.

That's what I was thinking... it probably downloaded some phishing virus on your computer... :dunno:

Be sure to run an adware/spyware scan. Webroot (http://www.webroot.com) is what I use.

Too funny. He co-sponsored the bill, but didn't know what it was about.

Now I like how this deals with so many of your McCain posts regarding amnesty, just for interest, you might want to check the post above it too:

1) McCain seems to have conned a lot of Republicans into thinking he's transformed his position on immigration--for example, Victor Davis Hanson, author of "Mexifornia," who now writes about "McCain's won't-make-that-mistake-again changed views on closing the border." This even though it's obvious to anyone paying attention that McCain hasn't altered his ultimate support for legalization of illegals (once he's declared the border "secure"). One reason we know this is because he's said it--he said it again on Meet the Press yesterday, when asked if he'd sign the McCain-Kennedy "comprehensive" immigration bill as president if it came to his desk. Answer: "Yeah."

And there ya have it. If you want a President that will grant amnesty to 20 million illegal aliens, vote for mccain.

If you DON'T want a President that will grant amnesty to 20 million illegal aliens, DON'T VOTE FOR MCCAIN!

Which STILL leaves us with no presidential candidate who will admit that they would do anything about it. Need them votes ya know.
