How can anyone call McLame Hucklberry Girly man and Ron Paul conservatives ? of all of them RP comes closest to being a conservative but he's a kook with a lot of Liberal views. McLame should switch to the Democrat party since he sides with them 99% of the time. Hucklberry is just Bill Clinton the second running as a Republican same with Girly man. What is it gonna take to get the Republican party back to real conservatism ?

Our party has walked away from Ronald Reagan conservatism. We were killed in 06 because of it

We need to get back to what made our party great, and not be worried about the liberal media writes about us

I don't think RP is 'liberal' in any of his perspectives. Extreme far right in many, which in practice is as dangerous as far left, actually they sort of come to the same place. He's most definately for getting the government out of our lives to the greatest degree possible. His approach to foreign policy is based upon George Washington's Farewell Address, which was perfect for the end of the 18th C., but lacking in reality today. While it's impossible to say that he's racist, since I suppose one can chalk up that while he has two decades of newsletters, some of which brought him over $900k per year in extra income, that he really was clueless to what was written under his own name. No doubt, many of his long standing associates are racists. He does not disavow them, just says, 'I don't agree with those ideas.'

I don't have 'friendships' with people that I find prejudice is important to. Do we all have prejudices? Sure, most of us try to be aware of it and act at the minimum civil when confronted with it. I do not want someone who doesn't seem to have a problem associating with people who revel in their prejudices, as president.

I believe Ron Pauls Stand On Iraq and Legalising drugs are more liberal leaning views than conservative thats why I said some Liberal views

Actually, both are 'conservative' ideas in the traditional sense. In general, conservatives do not believe in foreign interventions unless impossible to avoid. The reason that GW ran on 'no nation building.' For most of us, that looked a little lame in light of 9/11. On the other hand, not so sure anymore.

As for drugs, same thing. Making them 'illegal' in the first place, increased government intrusion into our lives. That the war on drugs now makes sense to those that care about families, etc., it seems rational. However, there's a strong argument to be made that all it's done is increase crime and criminals, much like prohibition. I'd never favor government giving out needles, drugs, etc., but legalizing and collecting taxes upon? Might make more sense. Dunno.

As to the legalising drugs issue My main concern is we can't deal with drunk drivers at this time we have IDIOTS that are being caught for the 8th and more times that tells me our Liberal look on enforcing Drunk driving is not working and innocent people are dieing because of our lax laws adding drugs into the mix is just plain stupid in my opinion

I'm not saying I disagree, but it's an intervention by government on personal choice issues, which is not conservative in nature. Now I'm against prohibition but not DUI. I think there may be something to that thinking with drugs too.

I think what the Republican party is going to need is an ass kicking this November. We "did" have a couple real good conservatives running, but nobody paid any attention to them. Tancredo and Hunter. Thompson wasn't bad either. Who's left? ALL THE CANDIDATES WHO ARE MORE LIBERAL THAN CONSERVATIVE! And it's not a real great endorsement, but Paul is by far the most conservative among the remaining candidates. Then Romney, and the other three are just garbage. Every one of them was all about giving illegal aliens amnesty, benefits, and letting them stay here forever. Then add in all the other liberal type crap these ass hats have done, and you don't have a conservative anymore.

What baffles the shit out of me is, how these liberal sons a bitches get on the top of the pile in the party of conservatives. Kind of tells me the Republican party isn't what it was anymore. There's too many people that are socially liberal that try and pass themselves off as conservative. This party needs a wake up call, and that's part of the reason I like RP.

I've criticized Ron Paul before, but the more i listen to him, the more I like him.

Maybe his voice is just hypnotic or something.

Im still a Romney supporter. I think he will be better than alot of people expect. I don't think his strength is campaigning, its actually leading.
