How can we force our governmental representatives to support issues that are important to us? This year if you are against illegal immigration and the choice is Clinton, Obama or McCain your vote will be in support of illegal immigration amnesty. Here is an article for consumption for the Republican conservatives listing alternatives... http://www.townhall.com/columnists/MichelleMalkin/2008/02/07/quo_vadis,_conservatives but what if you are a Democrat and dislike illegal immigration, how do you get your voice heard?
As mentioned in the link above your only help or hope comes from the individual representatives or senators that hold your position on a particular issue. Therefor I think if you have an issue of interest not addressed you should notify the person running for office that you will not vote for him/her based on the position he/she holds on your position. And, you should write each representative and senator and let them know that you will not vote for them if they do not take a public clear stance on your issue and inform them of how that affects your party vote.

If you feel very strongly about the issue then share this thought with everyone you know that has the same issue concern or even another issue concern. Copy this information and send it to everyone on your mailing list and ask them to form a chain letter so Congress, those running for Congress and president will know how the people feel on issues.
