Why bother?

Hillary and Obama offer nearly identical platforms:

* The rich aren't paying enough taxes, soak them for more. If that doesn't bring in enough money, redefine middle class people as "rich".
* Blacks (I guess except Obama) can't make it on their own, enact programs to help them.
* Give enough money to poor people, to buy their votes and ensure your re-election.
* Punish corporations, restrict them, take their money. Government can spend it more wisely.
* Nationalize the country's health care system, and force some or all people to join it. Create many new "crimes" about selecting your own helath care, paying for it outside the government system, etc. Jail physicians who don't obey.
* Pull our troops out of Iraq, regardless of what happens to our allies who trusted us to see the conflict through to victory.
*Global warming is man's fault. Keep spending money and piling on regulations and restrictions until it gets better. Don't worry about the effects on the economy.

Hillary and Obama have only a few minor differences in their platforms, and neither has any particular experience at running governments or other large organizations. It's not surprising that they are running almost neck and neck. Obama is more charismatic, which mostly explains his slight lead. Both are extreme leftists. Hillary's age, and her career of riding Bill's coattails, makes he look "old school establishment", while Obama can pretend to be offering something new. But in fact, both offer nearly-identical versions of the same old liberal agenda their party has been pushing since at least the McGovern era.

Neither has been mopping the floor with the other. They've reserved that ttreatment for those who believe their talk. But Obama may have accumulated enough of an edge in delegatres, that he will win unless Hillary somehow pulls off HUGE victories (like 80% to 20%) in Ohio and Texas.

Even Democrats have had difficulty telling the two of them apart, electorally. But when one wins the Dem nomination, their opponent (probably McCain) will have no such trouble.
