Does anyone know if there is a maximum income level at which you do not qualify for the rebate?

75,000 for individuals and 150,000 for families.

The rebates would phase out gradually for individuals whose income exceeds $75,000 and couples with incomes above $150,000, aides said. Individuals with incomes up to $87,000 and couples up to $174,000 would get partial rebates. The caps rise higher for individuals and couples with children.

yep I wouldn't be required to file this year except for that rebate check. And looks like I'm in that last column of recipients too.

Bush said today the checks will begin going out the second week of May. That's not what the schedule above says.

So, if you ar married filing jointly, whose SS digits are used to determine the payment schedule? Or do we get separate checks?

Who ever's SS is listed first when you filed your taxes.

I had heard also that the checks would be sent out in May.

Looks like we won't get ours until August, damn.

I was going to use it to send my son to visit my sister in Finland in July. I didn't want to have to put it on a credit card first, damn again.

Our local paper ran a story saying that Syracuse "escorts" usually run $120-$150/hr, although one cop interviewed for the story said that the call girl he busted on a sting looked like she was "straight out of a monster movie."

It's only Aug. because my husband is listed first on the tax return. Otherwise we'd be one of the last.

Hubby went to the IRS websight and they say the checks go out in May, so who knows.
