Obama's Senate Experience (Or Lack Thereof)

Statistics: Barack Obama has sponsored 129 bills since Jan 4, 2005, of which 120 haven't made it out of committee (Poor) and 1 were successfully enacted

So in nearly 4 years in the US Senate, Obama only wrote 1 bill himself that was enacted. What bill was it?

S. 2125 [109th]: Democratic Republic of the Congo Relief, Security, and Democracy Promotion Act of 2006

A bill that doesn't even help the US.

Here are the 3 resolutions that Obama has passed in the 110th congress:

Passed Senate - Jun 26, 2007 - S.Con.Res. 25: A concurrent resolution condemning the recent violent actions of the Government of Zimbabwe against peaceful opposition party activists and members of civil society.

Passed Senate - Jul 13, 2007 - S.Res. 268: A resolution designating July 12, 2007, as "National Summer Learning Day".

Passed Senate - Mar 28, 2007 - S.Res. 133: A resolution celebrating the life of Bishop Gilbert Earl Patterson.

Wow, he's really making a difference there...

Conclusion: Obama has written 0 bills himself that help the US that were enacted in nearly 4 years in the senate. All he has done is vote on bills, piggyback on other people's bills, and introduce bills that mostly get shot down in committee.

Now for some fun... Hannity asks Obama voters to name one accomplishment by Obama... The results were pretty scary...

Yes and JFK had some great foreign domestic policy accomplishments like the Bay of Pigs, getting us into the Vietnam War, and bringing the country to the brink of nuclear annihilation. I can't wait to see what wonderful foreign policy blunders await us under BHO....opps, I mean BO (we can't stay his middle name).

He only ran for the senate in order to position himself to run for president. He's not there to represent his state. He's there to represent himself.

Nobody cares, except you and Rush Limbaugh.

Obama has the same Senate experience John Kennedy had at the same point.

Obama has the same Senate experience John Kennedy had at the same point.

What the hell is that supposed to mean? All senators have the same Senate experience as John Kennedy had at the same point. Or are you trying to claim that Obama has been in the Senate the same amount of time as John Kennedy when starting his presidential campaign? If that is your claim you are quite wrong, Kennedy was elected to the Senate in 1953 and elected to the Presidency in 1960. Not to mention being a US Congressman from 1947 to 1953 and a PT boat commander during WWII.

Shouldn't that read "she"? Or maybe "all of the above"?

JFK did get a major tax cut most of the way through Congress, cutting marginal income tax rates across the board (highest bracket went from 91% to "only" 75%), cutting the capital gains tax, etc. It was signed into law by LBJ after Kennedy's assassination.

Anyone think Obama will do the same? :laugh2:
