Some 3,000 scientific robots that are plying the ocean have sent home a puzzling message. These diving instruments suggest that the oceans have not warmed up at all over the past four or five years. That could mean global warming has taken a breather. Or it could mean scientists aren't quite understanding what their robots are telling them.

This is puzzling in part because here on the surface of the Earth, the years since 2003 have been some of the hottest on record. But Josh Willis at NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory says the oceans are what really matter when it comes to global warming.

That means, when the evidence no longer fits, change the argument.

Perennial Arctic Ice Cover Diminishing, Officials Say
The amount of long-lasting sea ice in the Arctic -- thick enough to survive for as much as a decade -- declined sharply in the past year, even though the region had a cold winter and the thinner one-year ice cover grew substantially, federal officials said yesterday.

Notice the one conclusion they don't actually consider. you know the one that global warming is just a hoax to convince people to give more control of their lives to the government.

As for the climate change, the climate changes every dang day. it has since the beginning of time. and it will until the earth is over. The idea that we can somehow prevent it is arrogant and stupid.
