All these examples do NOT imply that gasoline is cheap; it just illustrates how outrageous some prices are.

Think A Gallon Of Gas Is Expensive?

This makes one think, and also puts things into perspective.

Diet Snapple, 16 oz, $1.29 ... $10.32 per gallon!

Lipton Ice Tea, 16 oz, $1.19 ... $9.52 per gallon!

Gatorade, 20 oz, $1.59 ..... $10.17 per gallon!

Ocean Spray, 16 oz, $1.25 .. $10.00 per gallon!

Brake Fluid, 12 oz, $3.15 .... $33.60 per gallon!

Vick's Nyquil, 6 oz, $8.35 ... $178.13 per gallon!

Pepto Bismol, 4 oz, $3.85 . $123.20 per gallon!

Whiteout, 7 oz, $1.39 ......... $25.42 per gallon!

Scope, 1.5 oz, $0.99 .....$84.48 per gallon!

And this is the REAL KICKER.

Evian water, 9 oz, $1.49 ...$21.19 per gallon! $21.19 for a gallon of WATER!! and the buyers don't even know the source (Evian spelled backwards is Naive.)

(Just for the record... I do NOT buy bottled water... no fucking way.)

Ever wonder why computer printers are so cheap? So they can hook you for the ink. Someone calculated the cost of the ink at, you won't believe it but it's true; $5,200 a gal. $5200 A GALLON!!!

So, the next time you're at the pump, be glad your car doesn't run on water, Scope, Whiteout, Pepto Bismol, Nyquil or, God forbid, Printer Ink!!!!!

I've done reference gathering and photography on semi submersible rigs in the Gulf, these guys were the hardest working people I have ever been around. Drilling 24 hours a day in any weather except hurricanes and that is just to get the oil out of the ground. Then there is the transporting to the refineries, the refining, more transport, dry holes, then the gas station cost....... all that and it is only 3 dollars a gallon....... that is amazing when compared to all of those other things, especially the water.

Sorry, gasoline is expensive when you look at how many gallons you have to use just to get back and forth to work each week.... no one drinks 10 gallons of milk themselves in one week...

and no guy can "produce" a Gallon in a year I would imagine, even if a twice a day "process"!

And it all boils down to what it costs to produce the product and the supply and the demand...

demand is DOWN 100,000 barrels a day in useage, yet the gas prices are still going up....this is where we are being screwed, or the global economy screws us... prices should be going down since we are reducing the demand but the oil companies have us by the baqlls because they are also the refineries for the most part too and they have decided that not building more refineries is the BEST for their PROFITS....

this should be illegal and defies everything, regarding a true capitalistic system....but out govt lets it happen....

They keep trying to blame Green Laws as to why they haven't built a new refinery in 30 years while closing 1/3 of their refineries too, during the same period...

But this is simply NOT TRUE, they have not even tried... and even when we offered them old closed Military Bases that had been shut down to build their refineries so they would avoid ALL GREEN LAWS, they still turned it down and are not going to build any...

This is where their added profits come from... limiting the refining in to gasoline and yes, they are THE MOST profitable businesses in the USA....their profits are near double the profits of the normal corporation...more than Double the profits made of a Corporation ...like Walmart. And I am not talking dollars but their bottom line profit as a percent... walmart is 3.5% and oil companies have been running close to 11%...RECORD increase in their percentage of profits made....off OUR backs.... and yes the gvt taxes us yah dee dah on gasoline and all that stuff to sidetrack the issue that we may very well have been raped or gouged.... and all legally because they refuse to build more refineries...

if we had a working capitalistic system there would not have been the consolidation allowed that has virtually put a mini monopoly in each region in our country, having no competition trying to compete for the lower gas product so to gather more customers....there is no one that wants to build knew refineries to bring the cost down...they have us by the balls because of their mini regional monopolies that our gvt let them have with the consolodations that took place, imo.

We have some of the cheapest gas prices in the world. Try going to Europe or Australia. It's all the same....if anything their gas is cheaper putting everything in to perspective...

U.S. gasoline taxes almost always go for transportation infrastructure such as road building and maintenance. European gas taxes often go for off-road projects.

"Many of those countries use part of that money for transit, but they also spend it on things like health care and schools," Mantill said.

Privately we and our businesses pay for our health care along with other taxes put upon us like Medicare taxes, and medicaid taken out of income tax we pay and many other taxes of ours going towards healthcare.

Then you got state and propety taxes we pay to pay for schools with no gas taxes going towards that...

and when you take in to consideration the dollar dropping and not worth a damn and the Euro rising...

and that the average car in the usa gets 21 miles to the gallon and the average car in Europe gets 32 miles to the gallon...

And that we do NOT have the same opportunities with mass transit as they do to reduce our own usage....

And how much of our income taxes are used to subsidize the oil industry...

I would say that we are no better off than the people in the EU when it comes to our gas prices when everything is taken in to consideration.
