I don't see any reason it shouldn't be allowed. Will it happen? I think the major block will be the Pilots UNION. We'll see.

Let them. Why the heck not? mergers generally help the economy. They help the companies merging synergize and become more efficient.

actually, I disagree.....mergers reduce competition, which reduces the need for efficiency and results in higher fairs for consumers.....

Allowed? Sure. It's not like airlines have pricing power in teh first place.
