McCain might not be saying much about it, but in the past, he has favored gun control and eliminating the loopholes at gun shows and exhibits.

The proposal, also sponsored by Democratic senators Joe Lieberman of Connecticut and Charles Schumer of New York, would mandate checks on buyers at weekend gun shows similar to those now in effect for customers of federally licensed gun dealers. The National Rifle Association and other critics call the proposal unworkable and intrusive.

Hell, I have no problem with checks for purchasers at gunshows. Doesn't make much sense to require them at gunshops but not the fairgrounds.

I don't understand this, because there's huge gun shows around here all the time, and you're not going to buy squat without a back ground check at any of them.

Please show me where the gun shows are that DON'T require back ground checks... :dunno:
