Obama Urges Governor to OK College Aid for Illegal Immigrants

Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama is urging Gov. Schwarzenegger to sign legislation extending state financial aid to illegal immigrant college students.

The so-called DREAM Act would allow illegal immigrant students who graduate from California high schools to apply for Cal Grant Loans, and community college fee waivers.

Sen. Barack Obama helped pass a similar bill while serving in the Illinois State Senate and is now pushing California to do the same.

"Governor Schwarzenegger now has the chance to demonstrate that instead of blaming one group for the challenges America faces, he can unite Californians and give children who play by the rules the opportunity to succeed," Obama said in released statement.

The dude is a radical left wing socialist....

Does that make any difference to Dems? None that I can see....

Bush hate is a powerful force that seems to stop brain activity and prevent logical reasoning.

7 months is not THAT old, I was looking at 2007. On the other hand, presidential politics changes stances in nanoseconds. What went before, may or may not hold up in the long haul.

I do not like Obama, I'd be happier with Hillary, though I cringe at that thought. McCain may pull it off, but the odds are against that.

He still supports the Dream Act.

From the February 21 debate, Obama mentions the Dream Act at the 4:00 minute mark;

QAs far as i know he has not. No matter who gets in the WH, illegals will not be addressed

The US taxpayer will have more of their mooney wasted on handouts to people who are here in violation of our laws

Nor McCain, in fact, he's to be a key note speaker for La Raza. When it comes to illegals, there is no difference in the candidates. Nor on spending, earmarks, etc. The only reason that McCain may get my vote is the war. I'm having problems with believing him recently.
