This clown is showing how much of a liberal moonbat he really is

He also attacked McCain's plan for a gas tax holiday to cope with rising pump prices, which Clinton supports, as well as his other environmental plans, saying the Republican had consistently opposed fuel efficiency standards.

"For him to come to Oregon as an environmental president, but his big strategy is to do more drilling and to have a gas tax holiday for three months, that's a phony solution," he said.

Pitching his message to Oregon's environmentally-conscious voters, Obama called on the United States to "lead by example" on global warming, and develop new technologies at home which could be exported to developing countries.

"We can't drive our SUVs and eat as much as we want and keep our homes on 72 degrees at all times ... and then just expect that other countries are going to say OK," Obama said.

"That's not leadership. That's not going to happen," he added.

This guy is a fucking moonbat to think he can order people what they can drive, eat, and how warm/cool they can keep their home

What will he do? Send the Enviro Police to our homes to check up on us?
Keep tabs on our heating and colling bills? Check or credit cards to see how much we are spending on gas?

I heard him yesterday giving a speech, and he was saying that we'll all need to "sacrifice." Really? You mean like we're not sacrificing enough already? When is enough going to be enough bambam? When the government just takes ALL OF OUR MONEY?

How can anyone support this buffoon?

I would like anyone to show where Barry has practiced what he preaches. Like most libs, he lectures US how to live our lives - but he does not do the same

Pale, the "change" he wants is as much of our money as he get his fucking hands on

Buffoons like MFM suport the black buffon, and will defend this insane speech somehow

That's AWFUL.

How is he planning on stopping us?

He's siding with other countries against us, countries who want to take our food and fuel??

Pretty terrible.

Bush isn't on our side and now it looks like the next prez means to starve us and keep us from driving to work.

Why the outrage?

Hilary has the same views. She said she will take oil company profits and "invest" then the way they should be invested

She also wants to jack up taxes on oil companies - which will increase the cost at the pump

Which is fine. With the tax increases she wants to impose on us, we will be unable to afford a car anyway - and the boss will be unable to afford to keep us on the payroll - so we will not have a job to drive to

Naaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah. She doesn't unless she SAYS she doesn't. Just imputing beliefs to her because you don't like her isn't good enough: she has to say she's going to stop Americans from setting our thermostats warm and driving whatever kind of car they want.

And she hasn't said anything like that intrusive and stupid, so there.

If Obama has, and that was a quote, that may well be heavily emphasized in the general campaign. That's really outrageous.

Hillary is for huge tax increases and has declared war on the oil companies.

Hillary's Oil Industry Threat: 'I Want to Take Those Profits'
By Mark Finkelstein | February 2, 2007 - 16:15 ET

Hillary has let her sticky fingers show again. Will the MSM pay attention?

We're all familiar with her statement from 2004: "the tax cuts may have helped you. We're saying that for America to get back on track, we're probably going to cut that short and not give it to you. We're going to take things away from you on behalf of the common good."

Speaking today at the DNC's winter meeting, she let that same Hillary-knows-best side show:

"The other day the oil companies recorded the highest profits in the history of the world. I want to take those profits. And I want to put them into a strategic energy fund that will begin to fund alternative smart energy, alternatives and technologies that will actually begin to move us in the direction of independence.

Using Hillary's (and your) logic, then the oil companies would have no incentive to drill and refine oil

Why not drill and refine the oil we have here in the US? That would require Hilary and the Dems to stand up to the enviro wackos - something they would never do

When I see Hollywood stop flying their private jets from award ceremony to award ceremony, when the elitist politicians downsize from their 6000+ square foot mansions into 1550 square foot homes, and when I see some real science behind this global warming bullshit, maybe I'll consider it.

But since global warming is bullshit dreamed up by socialists in order to advance their agenda under the guise of protecting the earth, I think I'll do what I damn well please.

We need to find a way free of oil also.

"We can't drive our SUVs and eat as much as we want and keep our homes on 72 degrees at all times ... and then just expect that other countries are going to say OK," Obama said.

Translation = Americans drive SUVs there is oil and enery crisis, Americans eat as much as they want and people in other countries starve, Americans keep their thermostat at 72 and cause global warming.

Obama sees the world's problems caused by American life style, not the answer to them. Why does America enjoy the world's best economy, a wonderful standard of living and consumer choices admired by most?

Is this guy running for president of the United States, or for King of the World?

It sounds very One World, to me, like he wants a world government where everyone in the world all have the same exact standard of living.

I'm only planning on voting for president if I vote at all; I'm not interested in voting for King of the World.

Obama Bought Home Without Rezko Discount, Seller Says (Update1)

By Timothy J. Burger

Feb. 18 (Bloomberg) -- The couple who sold Barack Obama his Chicago home said the Illinois senator's $1.65 million bid ``was the best offer'' and they didn't cut their asking price because a campaign donor bought their adjacent land, according to e-mails between Obama's presidential campaign and the seller.

The Illinois senator has said he made a ``boneheaded'' move in involving contributor Antoin ``Tony'' Rezko, a Chicago businessman, in the purchase of the property on June 15, 2005.

Rezko's wife, Rita, also an Obama donor, bought the adjoining plot in Hyde Park from the couple, Fredric Wondisford and Sally Radovick, for the $625,000 asking price, the same day that Obama bought the house for $300,000 less than the asking price. Antoin Rezko was under federal investigation at the time.

Rezko was indicted on unrelated fraud charges 16 months later, in October 2006. Obama has since returned about $85,000 in campaign contributions made or raised by Rezko. Obama's Democratic presidential rival, Hillary Clinton, has questioned Obama's ties with Rezko.

Lots. They are in Hyde Park, one of the most inclusive neighborhoods in the city. It surrounds University of Chicago/Museum of Science and Industry. Very nice.

This is Hyde Park, a white area around the University of Chicago. I lived there five years. It's an island of white academics in a sea of Southside and West Chicago impoverished blacks. Not likely Senator Obama is going to live on the South Side, be sure. Way too much crime.

Hey Abbey,
Here is an article about the deal the Obama's got on the property. It claims that they paid 1.65 million dollars for it. You would have to pay 1.5 million for the vacant lot next door!

after reading the article, I no longer think this was a sweetheart deal.....Renko bought a parcel of land, split the residential property off from the vacant land, which looks to be more than a "lot", at nearly 16 acres and made a $50k profit on the transaction.....looks like a whole lot of real estate transactions my clients have been involved in......
