Al Gore founded the company through which he purchases carbon offsets. Not only that, but his carbon offset certificates are actually stock certificates. They make him a profit, and they make him a profit when other people actually buy into his bullcrap.

This is a classic pyramid scheme, where nothing is actually created, and the first in get rich over the suckers in later. Woody’s got a new twist on it though, by claiming it makes him holy.

Al Gore's spouting this global warming thing just to line his own pockets!

http://www.ecotality.com/blog/?p=350

Gore buys his carbon offsets through Generation Investment Management. a company he co-founded and serves as chairman:
Gore helped found Generation Investment Management, through which he and others pay for offsets. The firm invests the money in solar, wind and other projects that reduce energy consumption around the globe…
As co-founder and chairman of the firm Gore presumably draws an income or will make money as its investments prosper. In other words, he “buys” his “carbon offsets” from himself, through a transaction designed to boost his own investments and return a profit to himself. To be blunt, Gore doesn’t buy “carbon offsets” through Generation Investment Management - he buys stocks.

I've been hearing that Al Gore has himself invested in a Carbon offset company. If that's true, isn't he efforts against "global warming" even more suspect? Getting people to pay him for carbon offsets, which in reality do absolutely nothing, seems alittle ridiculous.

Looks like I was right

So far, so good. So, where does Gore buy his ‘carbon offsets’? According to The Tennessean newspaper’s report, Gore buys his carbon offsets through Generation Investment Management. a company he co-founded and serves as chairman:

Gore helped found Generation Investment Management, through which he and others pay for offsets. The firm invests the money in solar, wind and other projects that reduce energy consumption around the globe…
As co-founder and chairman of the firm Gore presumably draws an income or will make money as its investments prosper. In other words, he “buys” his “carbon offsets” from himself, through a transaction designed to boost his own investments and return a profit to himself. To be blunt, Gore doesn’t buy “carbon offsets” through Generation Investment Management - he buys stocks.

So Gore promotes global warming. To avoid accusations hypocrisy he "buys" carbon offsets and encourages others to as well. Yet, he doesn't mention he owns the company that is selling the carbon offsets.

So essentially he is profiting personally by convincing others that global warming is a problem and convincing people to give him money for essentially doing absolutely nothing.

Can we say SCAM.

No wonder he's out spouting about global warming, he is out to make a big profit off of all of it.

And mine was put in the religion/ethics board the night before at 11:37. Looks like everybody's so pissed about it that they don't even read all the other threads before posting. Can't say I blame them.

From looking at Al recently, I'd say he's got his finger on a breakthrough weight-gain formula.

My understanding is that this particular company only sells to Al. In essense, he is buying his own stock.
