A public school principal in Texas who arranged for an Islamic instruction presentation for students by an organization whose leaders have been linked to terror groups apparently arranged for that indoctrination after being told not to by her district's superintendent, parents have told WND.

The issue developed this week when public school students at Friendswood Junior High in the Houston area were herded into an assembly scheduled by Principal Robin Lowe that suddenly replaced a scheduled physical education class, according to reports.

There, two women from the Houston division of the Council on American-Islamic Relations instructed students that Adam, Noah and Jesus are prophets, announced "there is one god, his name is Allah," taught the five pillars of Islam, told students how to pray five times a day, and instructed what Islamic religious rules require for dress.

I don't think it's a public school, note there is no state/edu indicated:

As usual, the right-wing extremist bloggers have it ALL wrong.

A public school principal in Texas who arranged for an Islamic instruction presentation for students by an organization whose leaders have been linked to terror groups apparently arranged for that indoctrination after being told not to by her district's superintendent, parents have told WND.

A -- The speakers were two women unconnected to any "hate' group. They were part of a group that tries to bridge relations between the two cultures. They don't "preach" anything.
B -- School officials were aware of the presentation. It was parents who were not informed beforehand. Though officials at the junior high say that Islam was included in a list of cultures that were to be studied.

The issue developed this week when public school students at Friendswood Junior High in the Houston area were herded into an assembly scheduled by Principal Robin Lowe that suddenly replaced a scheduled physical education class, according to reports.

A -- The assembly was scheduled. It was part of a series, as described above.

Total, complete bullshit.

Principal Robin Lowe had “best intentions,” said Karolyn Gephart, district spokeswoman. The guest speakers discussed Muslim culture, including topics such as food, religion, dress, beliefs and famous Muslims, Gephart said.

“If you pulled a book about Islam from the library, you would find the same stuff in the book,” Gephart said. “There was no proselytizing.”

You should stop allowing your hatred to get in the way of the facts.

EDIT: I looked at the district website. It is obviously a public school district.

You are incorrect. CAIR IS MOST DEFINATELY a hate group. Try checking your facts.

Oh and by the way...Dont tell me it is ok to teach something you abhor to your own children when YOU personally dont have any...

Maybe it is YOU who should stop pandering to Islam lest you become one of their concubines....But then I guess you swing that way.

It is you that should check your facts. You are so full of shit, it is unbelievable.
Such a level of hatred is unhealthy.

My child will be tolerant of all people, all races, all ethnicities and all religions. Unlike yours, obviously.

If you read the district website, it's a public instititution, just because it doesn't have .edu for the end of the website doesn't make it a private school.

My kids are very tolerant of all people, races, etc, except for those that want to kill or enslave us. Then, it's ass whipping time.

And CAIR does have terrorist ties and has been investigated before for it.

I read the site, it's an 'independent school' that mentions God quite a bit. Maybe Texas is different?

Actually I just went to check Houston Public Schools and they too go under the 'independent school district' so I guess they are different. :laugh2: Weird that the school can say what they do about God, good for them.

He can't, but I can:

In a highly unusual move, Sen. Barbara Boxer of California has rescinded an award to an Islamic activist in her home state because of the man’s connections to a major American Muslim organization that recently has been courted by leading political figures and even the FBI.

Boxer’s office confirmed to NEWSWEEK that she has withdrawn a “certificate of accomplishment” to Sacramento activist Basim Elkarra after learning that he serves as an official with the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) . After directing her staff to look into CAIR, Boxer “expressed concern” about some past statements and actions by the group, as well as assertions by some law enforcement officials that it “gives aid to international terrorist groups,” according to Natalie Ravitz, the senator’s press spokeswoman.

CAIR, which has 32 offices around the country and bills itself as the leading Muslim-American civil- rights group, has never been charged with any crimes, nor have any of its top leaders. But a handful of individuals who have had ties to CAIR in the past have been convicted or deported for financial dealings with Hamas—another reason cited by Boxer for her action. The senator directed her staff to withdraw the certificate—which she routinely gives to community leaders in California—and asked that a statement she had previously made endorsing CAIR be stricken from the group’s Web site, Ravitz said in an e-mail.

Is Senator Barbara Boxera good enough source?

cair is an un-indited co-conspirator in one case and maybe more. It's founders and former leaders have all been connected to aq, hamas, and hezbo. A number have already been convicted. cair is the aclu of the muslims. It's job is to use our laws and freedoms against us and to raise money for the violent organizations.

For her to bring this group in to lecture to the kids is outrageous and is definately unconstitutional.

Why does islam get a pass from the aclu? Because it's not truly a religion. And the aclu recognizes that.
