Who isn't voting for the main candidates now that they have more-or-less been chosen?

Pale Rider and hjmick have said they aren't, and I'm not.

Anyone else going to stay home or vote for a splinter candidate?

I would never stay home. If everyone who stayed home were to get up and vote for a third party candidate, then maybe, just maybe, those who have hijacked the system will get the message. To get the change we all rail about, the status quo must be rocked to it's core.

Well said. Yours will be the only reason I would show up at the polling place --- to count as a voter but not one who will tolerate what the main two parties are doing to us. And to encourage the Libertarian Party to have more ........persuasive candidates as time goes on.

I dislike McCain.

I will vote simply to vote against Hillary or Obama.

You know facism is a rightwing political philosophy right? I won't even comment on how ridiculous that makes you look.

The politics of hope. Yep. That's totally just like Hitler's final solution

maybe. maybe not. unless something comes out that totally destroys what unknown credibility he has, he has it. and i think that most of the reason will be that independents will draw votes away from Mc (if not both of them). and ppl will see Bush/Conservative party even if Mc doesn't follow them and says that he doesn't. ppl wanna get away from Bush.

but maybe the large number of independent votes will open the eyes of some ppl.

I still haven't decided what I am going to do. I was considering a 3rd party but I don't know. At the present it just seems like throwing away my vote.

I wish a 3rd party would emerge from the wreckage. Pick a candidate and start building the party around that candidate sometime in 2009 for the next general election.

I think for me its going to boil down to supreme court nominations. I know for sure I won't like Obama's or Hillary's picks. So I might vote for McAmnesty although that nauseates me as well but at least there is a small measure of hope. Ok maybe very small.

If McCompromiser picks an actual conservative as running mate that would make it a little easier.

I understand from a post in another thread that you are in California. If this is indeed the case, it is an almost forgone conclusion that the state's electoral votes will be going to Obama. Taking that into account, voting for a third party candidate is pretty much the same as voting for McCain.

We share the same dream.

Even tho I do not agree with 100% of what McCain stands for, I cannot vote socialist. And that is what Obama is spouting. I lived in England, which has a vast amount of socialist laws, and saw how much better a free society is. McCain may have issues, but he has my vote.

Unless the choice were between Stalin and Hitler, I would not stay home.

Consider just one thing, had Bush lost in 2000 as I think he did, how many children and wives and husbands would have had a chance to live a life of their choosing. McSame wants to continue the needless deaths in another mistake. Sometimes it makes a big difference.

Well without his Iraq stance, I'm unsure I'd vote for him. I have to agree with you, he beats Obama for certain.

I'll hold my nose and vote for McCain. The SCOTUS is too important to leave to a commie for 4 years.

I was so sure last year that a third party or charismatic Independent WOULD emerge, like Perot did for much less reason. It seemed so obvious there was a power vacuum!

I can hardly believe how often I am wrong. I'm trying to reform and not make predictions.

I'm voting McCain because like the above poster, I won't do anything to allow a socialist to establish himself as president.

Obama will never make the presidency. Hillary had a shot, but people are suspicious of Obama, and have good reason to be.
