the city of Denver is taking no chances. they are gearing up for massive riots. ah didn't we see this in 68???? actually I was in Nam. but i heard it was a hoot hahaha....................

Get ready for some screeching. The Democratic National Convention is coming to town and police will be ready – with everything from SWAT machines to tazers to stingers and tear gas and lots of other possible goodies.

wow. this is a ton of fire power for just liberal pussy's

Anti-war movement wrestles with 1968:

A coalition of anti-war groups is vowing to protest this summer’s Democratic National Convention in Denver under the rubric “Re-create ’68,” prompting criticism from some on the left who are loath to revisit what they see as a disastrous time for both the anti-war movement and the Democratic Party.

cool. I may get to see my first big political riot.........:laugh2:

Ah, the good old days. Riots nowadays seem to be racially based, the old political ones were much better fun. It seemed like every other week there'd be a dust-up against the Vietnam War or someone trying to overthrow a government somewhere. In my experience they're far better quality riots than your average race riot. You get a better type of arrestee as well. I think I'd definitely recommend a political riot as against a race riot for sure.

I thought Denver was such a peaceful, liberal enclave?

Don't say that, I'll be destroyed if they can't work up a good old-fashioned political riot! :laugh2:

Seattle was a peaceful, liberal enclave until they hosted the G-8 Summit a while back. Fruitcakes came in from all over the world.

If you wanted to see some fireworks, you should have come to the 2004 Bush Coronation in Manhattan. We had a hellacious time!
Most of the GOP delegates were not pleased, but that is beside the point. :lmao:

The Democratic National Convention in Denver will go smoothly. Are you attempting to incite a riot or are you too meek and timid for that?

I consider most rioters to be anarchists, and while they may have more ideas towards the left, they dont act with any decency, rioters arent worthy of anything except a kick in the ass :laugh2:

Rioting within the political/military sphere has been happening for thousands of years. Many times the rioters have produced fantastic results. Just think of the reich wing rioters in Florida in November and December of 2000? Just how fantastic were those results? And just think how much different we as a nation would be today if only the voters were allowed to elect the president in that year?!?!?!?!?!?!?!??!?!?!?!?!?!?!?

I don't support riots. I leave that to the other imbeciles.

Man, I know what you mean about cops!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I spent some time as a Security Manager at a casino. Some of those jerks, including other Security Managers, really made me sick at my stomach sometimes!!!!!!!!!!! It seems their entire purpose in life is to exercise authority, warranted or not, and kick somebodies, anybodies, ass as the mood compels them. That's primarily why I am no longer a Security Manager in a Casino. Actually, the casino's like all that shit, ain't it a hoot?!!?!?!?!??!!?!!?!!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!

Yep PB, long time no exchange of posts indeed!

Jeez security in a casino would have been a bit interesting. I always reckon cops have an easier job than security personnel. Cops just go in, enforce the laws, drag bodies out and chuck 'em in the slammer and let the courts sort them out. Security people have to worry about all the other crap that cops can ignore. Not a job for me I think, I'd probably last a week :laugh2:

Chalk and cheese PB, some people don't understand the difference between the two jobs. I've seen cops absolutely stunned when a security officer told them that he had no interest in anything outside instructions from his client, outside of legislative and common law obligations of course. As I said, I'd give me a week in security (and now I'm thinking that might be too long :coffee:)

Oh, sure, there'll be a few demonstrations by a few hysterical feminists claiming Hillary got shafted by the media, and men suck, and blah, blah, blah.....

NamVet: Do you really think the Democrats in Congress are going to be blamed for the Iraq debacle?

It's George Bush's war, from start to finish. Iraq is what has caused Bush's approval rating to drop to record lows.

And Iraq is what will send John McCain back to the Senate, where he can snooze away the remainder of his term, untroubled by the rigors of the presidency.

It was academic at that point, since LBJ announced in March of '68 that he would not be running for re-election.

I said the crazy Hillary supporters who can't let it go are feminists who think she got shafted by the media, done in by sexism, blah, blah, blah

And I guess if I was black and had an opportunity to vote for an extremely competent candidate who also happened to be black....I guess I'd do it.

you did not mention sexism before, you are changing your tune after being called your BS. it is a fact hillary got shafted by the press. so why would people/women who protest that at a DNC convention be feminist? why are blacks who voted in a 90% block not racist, but women who think hilllary got shafted by the media and/or because she is a woman, feminist? your double standard is telling...

Hillary was done in by her own poorly-led primary effort. The people running her campaign never saw Obama coming, never thought they had to exert themselves to win the state caucuses, and they thought Hillary would have the nomination wrapped up on Super Tuesday (Feb. 4th).

When it turned out that Obama was vastly more formidable than they thought...when he started winning caucus after caucus, and when Hillary didn't wrap it up on Super Tuesday, the self-proclaimed geniuses in charge of her campaign (Mark Penn, et al) didn't have a clue what to do next.

That's when they started whining that the media was being mean to Hillary and that sexism was keeping her from being nominated.

But the only media people being mean to Hillary were right-wing morons like Limbaugh and O'Reilly, and who cares what they say anyway?

And the only thing that kept Hillary from the nomination was that she wasn't as stong a candidate as Obama.

so you take back your feminist statement...

you seriously believe the debates put on by the left wing media were fair to hillary? good lord, even SNL made a joke about it. the media had in for hillary from day one. why is it that obama is allowed to cry racism whenever someone dislikes him but hillary can't say boo about her being female? are you also seriously saying the hardnuts matthews and overbite were hillary fans? they weren't continually singing obama's praises? you should get out more.

you still cannot explain your double standards
