So, a psychic tells a government school teacher that one of her students is being sexually abused...then it gets weird.

You know, it's a miracle that our nation hasn't destroyed itself a million times over.

I read this earlier today and was too shocked for words. It's a wonder anyone lives in Canada. Between this sort of crap and their apparent lack of free speech, it's only a matter oftime before they come streaming south.

There's no such thing as magic. The mother will do well to take her daughter to a facility where she can be cared-for by a staff that doesn't indulge in fantasy.

Magic had nothing to do with the above. stupidity more like it.

If someone believes in psychics, they may as well believe in magic in my book.

Oh how I long for the days of Magic and Kareem. Rambis and Worthy. Thompson and Green. Scott, Nixon, and Cooper. Riley and Hearn. Showtime baby. Not one of them would have been so complacent after a game like game six.

Basketball has gone steadily down hill they left the floor. The character of the players has as well.

bout time. maybe we can tell OPEC where to shove that pipeline sooner than we thought. a deal buster for the dems.

BAGHDAD — Iraq is on the verge of approving its first significant deals with major Western oil companies since the war began, the government said Thursday — a move that could give big firms like BP, Shell, ExxonMobil and Total an important boost as the country's oil industry expands and grows more lucrative.

A deal buster? What deal are you talking about? Your lust for smearing liberals is so overpowering that the things coming out of your maw don't even have to make sense do they?

Just out of curiosity, how does the return of major western oil companies fit into a thread about a psychic who started a child abuse investigation in Canada? I can follow the transition to Magic Johnson and The Lakers of old, but the oil deal seems to have come completely from left field.

Just wondering...

Ah yes, "The Houdini of the Hardwood." I didn't so much forget him as I left him out. He was a great, great player, but he was also before my time. I was concentrating on the players I would drive down to Inglewood to watch.

Just slightly off topic, on my first visit to the States in spring 1984 I went to the Basketball Hall of Fame in Springfield, Mass. Some great stuff there, including some of the floor from the original YMCA where Naismith invented the game. Unfortunately the staff were watching me at all times......:laugh2:

What...? You some kinda socialist er sumpin...? You want the gubmint to pay fer it, doncha?

The sad truth of the matter is that such facilities cost money a single mom can't afford. And since the social safety net has been shredded by the Bush administration, it's not likely she'll be able to send her any time soon.
