We are beginning to see some fundamental difference between Obama and McCain.....how you feel about those choices will help you decide how to vote....

Energy
A: If you believe the solution to America's energy crisis is that we should use less energy, you should vote for Obama...
B. If you believe the solution to America's energy crisis is that we should find new sources of energy, you should vote for McCain....

Economy
A. If you believe that America's economy will get better if government reduces the supply of money by increasing taxes, you should vote for Obama....
B. If you believe that America's economy will get better if the government increase the supply of money by reducing taxes, you should vote for McCain....

Reproductive rights
A. If you believe that if a fetus is delivered alive during a failed abortion it should be killed because it poses a risk to reproductive rights, then you should vote for Obama....
B. If you believe the government should impose some restrictions on abortion, then you should vote for McCain.....

Terrorism
A. If you believe that a person captured while firing a gun on an American soldier in Iraq should be handled under the same court procedures as a man captured while robbing a party store in Los Angeles, you should vote for Obama....
B. If you believe that a person captured while firing a gun on an American soldier in Iraq should be treated as a prisoner of war, you should vote for McCain....

Iraq
A. If you believe all troops should be out of Iraq within 16 months, regardless of what is happening in that country during that time, you shouild vote for Obama.....
B. If you believe the troop withdrawal should depend on what happens there, you should vote for McCain......

more to come later....

Energy
If you want a Presidnet who has consistently voted to explore for new oil, and didn't say just this past January that we shouldn't drill in ANWR (http://www.townhall.com/columnists/HughHewitt/2008/01/17/anwr_drills_mccain__yet_another_slam_by_mccain_on_ the_gops_base), vote for Bob Barr.

Economy
If you want a President who will eliminate income taxes (with the Fair Tax) and not just lower them, vote for Bob Barr.

Iraq
If you want a President who will let Iraqis start defending Iraq on their own, vote for Bob Barr.

Gun Rights
If you want a President who didn't start believing in gun rights two short months ago, vote for Bob Barr.

Civil Liberties
If you want a President who actually believes in Fourth Amendment rights (http://www.bobbarr2008.com/press/press-releases/29/bob-barr-urges-congress-no-surveillance-of-americans-without-fourth-amendment-protections/), and would end warrantless domestic spying, vote for Bob Barr.

Are you saying Bob Barr would be the new Supreme Ruler of the United States? If not, how on earth could this guy do any of these things? If by some true miracle he could be elected, how would he get anything past Congress? Like I said before, if you can't get Libertarians elected to head dog catcher, how could one have any power as President? He would be a token President, a party joke........ he would doom your party to oblivion.

In reality, he will get a sprinkling of votes that would have gone to McCain and we will end up with President Obama and his Congress of merry boys to destroy everything decent about America. If McCain is elected we will at least have a stalemate that doesn't allow anything to get done until someone else, a real leader, comes around. And probably most of all, we won't have a President with one of the worst moustaches in history.

You oversimplified every policy for both candidates. And getting Bob Barr elected will never happen, just like Sitarro said. I do agree with some of what he says, and think it might be an eye-opener for the country if he does pull some votes, but I don't think he will. Right now the Libertarian party is the little brother who has to sit in the back seat because mom and dad made the two big brothers take him with them. Maybe some day we will wake up as a country and see there are more than two choices. I hope so.

The country will never "wake up" until people start voting for someone besides the two current parties in power. So while Bob Barr may not win this year, that's not a good reason to vote for him if he is the best candidate.

Agreed. I am not against him, I do agree with a lot of the Libertarian platform. But is voting for him and getting Obama elected a better choice than voting for McCain and haveing a chance at getting him elected?

You must mean "that's not a good reason to not vote for him". No, a good reason to not vote for him is 4 years of Barrack Hussein Obama, you get the blame even more so than the idiots that nominated McCain over Mitt if that empty suited puppet is elected.

Again, anyone with common sense understands that you need to get a base before you try to run as a third party...... you also need to run someone without a porno addict's mustache or a skinny dwarf(Ronny Paul)....... they could have the minds of Steven Hawking but he isn't electable either. By voting for a third party for President without any political base, you are not only wasting a vote and making your party a punch line in late night jokes, you are showing what a naive, pie in the sky, not dealing with reality bunch of rubes your party is populated with. Bob Barr is an ass for running in the first place and I don't believe his sincerity because he knows just what his candidacy will result in or he is such a narcissistic jerk that there is no way that he has the mental faculty to run small town council meeting.

Obama will be elected because of Barr and his followers and he knows it, he is not who he says he is.

As I've said before, the lesser of two evils is still evil. Voting for McCain, a pro-big-government candidate, would be just as against my principles as voting for Obama, another pro-big-government candidate. I feel that I should vote my principles. I'm sure others (like Sitarro) feel they should vote pragmatically. I disagree.

SOmetimes you need to choose the lesser of two evil's because it will be the better thing to do. While I do not agree with everything McCain stands for, he is better in my opinion than Obama. I know in my heart he will be better than Obama for America. Barr will not get elected, and you may as well vote for Obama because you vote will be for him anyway.

I understand what you're saying in the last sentence, but I disagree. A vote for Barr is a vote against both McCain and Obama. And I guess that's my whole point in this thread - it's not a Dem vs. GOP issue. There are more than two candidates in this race.

True, there are more than two candidates in the race, knowing how stupid people are, Mickey Mouse will be written in more than anyone would believe...
What's really sad is he will have as great a chance of being elected as Barr and yet you will still vote for him just to prove how idealistic you are. When Obama and his majority of fools in Congress put in 2 Supreme Court Justices that make Ginsburg look conservative you'll be on your idealistic high horse saying you didn't vote for him but essentially you will have done just that.

Barr knows that he would have no support if, by some miracle, he would win. Why is he doing this instead of trying to get elected to the House or Senate as a Libertarian where he might actually help his party. Logically, I have to assume that he is working for Obamma........ what a shit head he is.

I can accept that. I hope people look deeper into the issues tho. There is a lot more to each one of them. There is a lot of history on McCains side that need to be examined, same cannot be said for Obama. Same goes for any congressmen that is up for election. We need to look at their histories, how they have voted, because they will generally vote the same way.

Yea, he and his supporters are the zeros with the distinction in history of helping the United States get another zero in the Presidency for 8 long years..... Billy Bob Clinton.

Barr and his naive supporter will also get into the history books as doing essentially the same thing only worse....... unlike Clinton who was obsessed with chunky women, Obammy is obsessed with a hatred of one side of his own family and the color of their skin.

The greatest threat of a McCain presidency is the selection of more ideologues to the supreme court and other courts. America was founded on laws that supported the freedom of the individual to privacy and control over their own lives. Bush has been selecting ideologues for seven years and you see the results in wire tapping, corporate corruption, torture, and the loss of habeas corpus. Should McCain select fascists similar to Scalia, individual freedom will be lost to religious fanaticism and corporate power.

A vote for McCain is a vote against the fundamental principle of America, the right of the individual to lead their life without the government interfering.

Actually, a vote for either McCain or Obama is such a vote. Obama wants to take away your right to provide health care to your child in the manner you see fit, take away your right to spend your own money (in the form of higher taxes), limit your right to own firearms, and limit company's rights to use various subcontractors by supporting "prevailing-wage" laws that cater to labor unions, among others. A vote for Obama is a vote against freedom.

For the future of America as something other than a third world nation like we are headed for now!

We are certainly headed downhill fast, but blacks in the government, wherever that happens all around the world, just accelerates the decline.

Jamaica, Zimbabwe, South Africa, Nigeria, Kenya ------- these are all places that switched to blacks doing the government: all are a total mess, often with brutal, grotesque killing common and warlord reign on a block-by-block level.

In this country, blacks in goverment mean the mayor of Detroit, the corruption in New Orleans, the "cold cash" of Rep. William Jefferson, the nine children by five women of Rep. Kweisi Mfume (who also headed NAACP while fathering all these out-of-wedlock children!), the mayor of Baltimore having boxes and a cooler carried out of her house by FBI agents just last week, the perpetual resignations under a cloud or indictments of nearly every Secretary of Urban Affairs, a cabinet position reserved for blacks. Then there was the mayor of Washington, D.C., with all his drug taking and sex orgies.

I see Obama loading our government with these rotten criminal types and the country going downhill and having revolutions in consequence.

Goodness knows white politicians are plenty bad as it is!! But black politicians are bad beyond belief --- and that's most of them, sadly.
