So now the antiwar protesters have to interrupt a naturalization ceremony to get their point across? WTF is wrong with people? Don't get me wrong, I support people's right to speak freely, but show some common decency to people, especially at significant events like this. This is about as bad, IMO, as the 'God hates fags' church people protesting at military funerals.

Bush handled it well, IMO.

Antiwar Demonstrators Interrupt Annual Naturalization Ceremony at Monticello

CHARLOTTESVILLE, July 4 -- President Bush kicked off the Fourth of July at the hilltop estate of one of the nation's Founding Fathers, where he welcomed dozens of new American citizens from 30 countries.

Bush's address Friday at the annual Independence Day naturalization ceremony at Thomas Jefferson's Monticello was immediately interrupted by a handful of antiwar demonstrators, one of whom repeatedly shouted, "Impeach Bush!" Bush, apparently unfazed, offered a holiday-appropriate response.

"To my fellow citizens-to-be, we believe in free speech in the United States of America," Bush said to hearty applause.

Six protesters, including one in a cartoonish Uncle Sam hat, were "voluntarily escorted" away from the crowd of 3,000, and no arrests were made, said Lee Catlin, a spokeswoman for Albemarle County.

He's had over 7 years of this type of crap, he's gotten used to it. Through it all he has stayed pretty steadfast in his conviction to protect us all and we haven't had another attack here since September 11th, 2001. No matter what anyone has to say about him and his administration, they can't take that from him. He is also loved and respected by an overwhelming majority of the men and women that have served under him, that says a lot also. It is easy to criticize the man, look at the absolute idiots that do, but nobody knows what he reads about and has to deal with on an hourly basis....... the mere burden of knowing what he knows about what is going on around the world and at home is in itself overwhelming and would put most of the public in a psych ward. It is truly a thankless job and I am happy for him to be done with it.

Agree completely. Most people don't see the big picture or even a small part of it. There's a lot going on that will never be made public, at least in our lifetime. All these fools did was disrupt other peoples enjoyment of a special day in their lives. They should have been escorted out then beaten senseless.

Bush has sent enough U.S. citizens to their deaths. He might as well swear in a few new ones.
Nice photo op, though. I wonder which member of his staff came up with the idea.
