It's not the game itself, it's the culture. I don't know what it is about soccer, but huge games draw riots, and even in the states, it drives parents to acts of homicide. Here comes a story from Germany where an 8-year-old kid fouled another kid at a game, and some faggot in the stands went all Chuck Norris on the guy.

i have watched american footbal parents clothes line 8 year old children and attack other parents and referees, i have seen baseball parents and players take bats to each other and in one instance pull out guns and shoot into the oposing stands....i have watched wrestling matches in high school where parents and brothers have attacked the oponent ..... i have seen cars and property destroyed after every super bowl, stanley cup, world series, nba final and even march madness .....

soccer and europe do not have a lock on the lunatic behavior you describe....
