I have several reasons for signing up, even though I pretty much have given up on the Republican party.

First reason is that this is a historical event for my state. Who wouldn't want to be part of that? Plus I might get to rub elbows with some celebrities who are supposed to be there.

Second is that maybe, just maybe, I can talk to some of the major RINOs infecting the party and ask them what their deal is. Sometimes it takes just one person to change the mind of another. I don't know if I will BE that person, but maybe get the thought process going? Doesn't hurt to try.

I don't know if I *will* be chosen. I know you have to go through the background check and security clearances first. I have a clear background and pass my childcare licensing required background check every year.

My friend who signed up with me, said they will probably pick volunteers and notify us sometime the first week of August. I hope they let me know ASAP, as I have to let my PT job know when I need time off...

So hopefully I get chosen, and I'll keep everyone informed on the outcome.
