Just thought I'd share this amusing story out of Atlanta. Seems as though the only way out of a certain subdivision intersects a train track where trains are sometimes stopped for hours at a time, trapping residents either in or out of their neighborhood. The train company is practically ignoring them on this, too.

No wonder Hag hasn't been on here in a while!

Boy, do I know the feeling.

I was trapped by a CSX train for 45 minutes one time. I'm sure the SOB operating the train was taking his damned lunch break. He sat there for exactly 45 minutes and then started on his merry little way.

And what does CSX say about it. "Hey, we're the best neighbors you can have." or "We're a green company. Our trains can travel 400 miles on a single gallon of fuel".

Bah, if they really were green they wouldn't block the roads at traffic time for 20-30 minutes every day.

This is an example of government at it's best actually. We spend so much tiome trying to figure out how to regulate, intrude and manage folks business but noone remembered to write a simple law for developers, to have to have two (2) ways to get in and out of all neighborhoods. I mean, it would make since.

Good post!
