After visiting Germany, Italy and England, it was astounding to see how different their media is than ours.
The German press is fairly neutral. They care more about domestic problems than political ones. News of the U.S. elections is almost a non-event.
The Italians are more interested in attacking their own politicians than reporting on those in America. If you think the U.S. media attacks Bush, you would be stunned by what goes on in Italy. Different political factions are affiliated with different media outlets, and they devoted a ton of space to attacking the media. I'm talking deeply personal attacks. Family and friends are not immune.
England is much the same way. Except the U.K. media enjoys jabbing other nations as well as its own.
