Now we can understand why San Fran Nan is opposed to drilling for oil. She is making money off high oil prices

So much for the libs caring about the working folks

Bosom buddies: Nancy Pelosi and Big Wind
By Michelle Malkin • August 11, 2008 03:13 PM It’s what conservative bloggers are buzzing about: the financial relationship between Do-Nothing Nancy Pelosi and Big Wind pusher T. Boone Pickens.

#dontgo reports that according to disclosure statements, “in May 2007 she invested in T. Boone Picken’s clean energy fuels corp., CLNE, which is the sole sponsor of a proposal in California to funnel $5 billion in state funds and $5 billion in Federal funs to this corporation which will indirectly help them create a giant wind farm in the Texas panhandle.”

Follow the money.

It's no problem for San Fran Nan - we pay at the pump and she takes the money to the bank

BP, you are showing the selective outrage you libs are famous for. If this was a Republican with such a huge conflict of interest you would would screaming at the top of your lungs

But since it is a Dem you look the other way

Lawmakers passing legistation to enhance their own bank account is a big problem with me. You've bitched about it for years but now if a dem does it you're OK with it ?? :laugh2:

It it was not for their double standards, libs like BP and MFM would have no standards at all

It is a huge conflict of interest for San Fran Nan

Bt keeping the price of gas high, she makes money. Now we know the real reason she will not allow a vote on drilling

Pelosi has nothing to do with the price gas.

You have a replacement that's going to be able to actually replace gasoline? To carry your analogy to its logical conclusion, you don't wean a baby off of milk until he's capable of using other foods just as well, so we shouldn't be trying to get everybody to stop using gasoline until we have something better to fill our cars up with. What you're suggesting is trying to wean a baby off milk by starving him.

Pelosi has nothing to do with the price gas.

By blocking the vote on drilling, which would pass, she is doing what she can to keep them as high as possible

The drilling which would be allowed by a vote in Congress would not lower the price of gas. That drilling is a scam by Big Oil and Republicons to exploit the current price crisis.

Have you seen the drop in the price of oil since just the talk of increased drilling started?

I understand Joe the last thing you want is for gas prices to drop - it will not be helpful to your side in November

The price of gas dropped because Pelosi showed Big Oil she was serious about alternate energy. When she dismissed Republicon insistence on a vote for Big Oil, they got scared. They knew she and Obama were serious about getting off oil entirely. Big Oil had to get the price down to erode Pelosi and Obama's support.

What alternate energy? You have several states now voting for frilling. Pelosi and Reid hetting a yellow streak down their back and are now leaning toward - gasp - aloowing an up and down vote on drilling

You have over 70% wanting drilling

As I recall, before she adjourned the House, she said they would have a vote when they got back. She didn't change her position that much. Maybe she was just stalling until she could back-down Big Oil. Let the price drop for another month, let the alternate energy message get out and the vote won't make any difference. Americans won't want to accept the risk of drilling just to make Big Oil richer and themselves poorer.

She shut things down as Republcianbs were demandng a vote. She was opposed to a vote for about a wekafter - then when polls showed Dems were taking the blame - she is starting to waffle

Showing how libs really care about the country, Pelosi is telling fellow Dems to do what is best for them POLITICALLY
