How about an ordinance that requires potential day laborers provide proof of legal residency?

Do you carry proof of legal residency at all times? There are Anglo day laborers.

Yes, actually, I do, though I shouldn't. Well, I keep my SS card in my wallet along with my driver's license and proof of insurance. And yes, there are Anglo day laborers, but let's be honest, they are rare.

You haven't been to Los Angeles. Mexican immigrants comprise the bulk of day laborers, but there is a steady increase in whites. Unemployment has hit everyone.

I avoid Los Angeles at all costs, I hate the traffic. Up here in Ventura county the day laborers I see are all from Mexico and Central American countries with a few of Asian descent.

I carry my passport. It's actually pretty handy, considering most places that hire legally require a SS card (to prove you're a citizen) and a photo I.D. to prove you're the name on the card. A passport covers both of those, and hey, I paid $100 for it. I'm not letting it go to waste.

Why the hell would they require businesses to build shelters?????? Simply ban them from loitering on private property.
