My, how the once mightly have fallen

EDITORIAL: Pelosi's spatula

Americans don't think the 110th Congress - the one under the leadership of Democrats Harry Reid in the Senate and Nancy Pelosi in the House - has much to say for itself. Regardless of the issue, Americans are clearly of the mind that Congress is shirking its responsibilities. The energy/oil issue is no exception. In fact, Republicans are more in sync with voters than Democrats. It's the Republicans who have remained inside the Beltway and implored House leaders to return to Washington to tend to America's business.

Indeed, two Rasmussen surveys spell voter sentiment. The percentage of voters who gave Congress good or excellent ratings fell last month to single digits - a paltry 9 percent. "Most voters [52 percent] felt Congress was doing a poor job, which ties the record high in that dubious category," Rasmussen pointed out. Also revealing is another Rasmussen survey - this one from just last week. Tellingly, 61 percent of voters from around the country said "Congress, which is in recess until early September, should return to Washington immediately to vote on lifting the ban on offshore oil drilling."

Of course, Mrs. Pelosi is too busy to even consider working. Remember what she said? Remember what she promised that fine winter's day in January 2007 when she became the first woman to run the House? Recall what as speaker she and her Democratic colleagues would do? "We have made history, now let us make progress for the American people." That's what she said. That's what she promised. So much for living up to one's promises.

Politics may have taken Mrs. Pelosi out of the kitchen, but a spatula would appear more appropriate in her right hand than a gavel.

EEK! Don't do that so early in the morning! I haven't had coffee yet! Those freakishly-wide eyes are just too scary.

If Pelosi started cooking, she'd promise a full breakfast with waffles, sausage, bacon, eggs, omelets, and fresh fruit.

Three days later, she'd plop down a bowl of cereal with that dried fruit stuff in it and say, "See, there's the fruit I promised. Bye now."

One major accomplishment of that Pelsoi can be proud of was she added "healthy" food in the Congressional Cafeterias

Nancy Pelosi Takes Charge of Congressional Cafeterias
Just don't call it the Do-Nothing Congress:

A revolution is afoot at the deli counters, grills and salad bars of the U.S. House of Representatives. Newly ascendant Democrats may have hit roadblocks on Iraq and fiscal issues, but they have revamped congressional menus, replacing fatty, pre-made foods with healthier, gourmet alternatives.

The menu transformation is part of Speaker Nancy Pelosi's "Greening the Capitol" plan to make the House campus more environmentally friendly and socially progressive.
As always, there is a downside to liberal social engineering:

"It's a big jump from high school cafeteria to fancy-pants gourmet. I just wish my pay improved," said Caryn Schenewerk, a staffer for Rep. Gabrielle Giffords (D-Ariz.).

A fruit and cheese side dish with two small wedges of brie and cheddar, six grapes, two saltines and one strawberry cost $4.95, for example.
Others object on ideological grounds. A Republican aide grumbles:

I really don't like Nanny Nancy telling me what I can and cannot eat for lunch.
Worse, the cloying enviromoonbattery could make even bureauweenies lose their appetites. Drinks come in "ecotainers." Dispensers release napkins only one at a time (let's hope they didn't apply this to the restrooms à la Cheryl Crow). Garbage must be sorted into four different recycling bins. The fish on the menu is "sustainable" — whatever that means. Even plates and utensils are biodegradable. Compostable straws melt as you stir your coffee. The salad bar is built of "green materials," ad nauseam.

The objective of this idiocy, according to a spokesman for the bureaucrat who oversees the cafeterias, is to "save the planet." While that's a little overambitious, anything that distracts Nancy Pelosi from trying to pass serious legislation must be seen as a positive — unless of course it's a foreign policy junket.

Either way, you just can't stop staring at the carnage, no matter how hard you try.

How is that one unusual? Looks like a typical photo of her. Is it the official one that hangs in the Capitol building?

I'll bet that bomb is the only thing that has been between her legs in decades. Which would explain her shrill & maneater personality...

Maybe she just needs a little deep-dicking to calm her ass down?

Speaking for myself, temptation keeps making me click, then I see all the pics and inane comments. I want to stop, but alas...
