How? Just how would we be better if he was in office? Because he is going to nationalize health care? Look at the British and tell me it is better. Because he wants to nationalize education now? Right! He wants to tax the top 5% to ruin! How many other programs that he wants to enact will "improve" us? None if you ask me. And I am a patriotic American, so your first statement does not apply.

He simply brought a litany of old ideas then said they were change. I found the speech short, both in time and in bringing the crowd into the discussion.

I expected a masterful crowd handler to bring them to a crescendo where they would scream for a good half-hour. Instead, I got a regular convention speech from a democrat. A list of things they have talked about for the past 20 years.

I was disappointed. I was looking to learn some tricks on how to deliver a truly time-bending speech and all I got was another convention speech.

so they are racist and unpatiotic and as the top 5% of tax payers that pay 20% of the tax they get to pay the remaing 80% so the other 95% can have a tax break and be better off......

why do you want to take their realization of the american dream away from them.....

they worked hard, they sacrificed....they did everything that obama siad they should do and now you want to take it from them because the other 95% couldn't do it.....

Perfect speech for the audience he was speaking to, the idiots that know nothing about the reality of life in this world and expect government to take care of them. He checked off the list of liberal talking points one by one and then attacked John McCain.......... John McCain that had the class to congratulate him on his(and the media's) accomplishment. This limousine,757 liberal hypocrite and his po' boy show.

I don't see a reason why any corporation would want to stay in this country if this lying naive prick gets his way. What would keep them from going to a country that actually appreciates what they bring and then just sell their products to the dumb ass Americans that stay.

It's amazing what kind of show millions of dollars can put on, a lot of style and absolutely no substance. He started his speech with lies and continued with nothing but hollow bullshit that doesn't come close to reality.

Biden made the case that he was raised with conservative values, you know, pick yourself up, stand up and punch bullys no matter what anyone else thinks. Gee, that sounds exactly like what the Dims have been accusing Bush of being like in world politics. The morons in the audience didn't even realize they were applauding violence.

As for Obama, it was quite comical to see him plea with McCain to "not question patriotism". Sounds like Obama is trying to get McCain not to question him on his judgement on his relationship with anti-american terrorist Ayers.

as patriotic americans, we can agree to disagree. my point is that patriotic americans do not merely look at how a particular candidate will impact THEIR lives, but how they will impact the country as a whole. And, by the way, he has never advocated imstituting the British model of health care and he has never advocated nationalizing education... nice inaccurate demonization.

Barack Obama has clear and audacious intentions concerning public education in America.

On November 20, 2007, in a speech entitled "Our Kids, Our Future," he said,

http://www.americanthinker.com/2008/07/obama_and_the_independent_scho.html

"A truly historic commitment to education -- a real commitment -- will require new resources and new reforms. It will require a willingness to break free from the same debates that Washington has been engaged in for decades - Democrat versus Republican; vouchers versus the status quo; more money versus more accountability. And most of all, it will take a President who is honest about the challenges we face -- who doesn't just tell everyone what they want to hear, but what they need to hear.

I am running to be that President. And that's why I'm proposing a comprehensive plan to give every American child the chance to receive the best education America has to offer - from the moment they're born to the day they graduate college. As President, I will put the full resources of the federal government behind this plan. But to make it a reality, I will also ask more of teachers and principals; parents and students; schools and communities."

I used the British example of how the system doesn't work as well as the one we have in place. But he does want a nationalized care plan.

http://www.businessandmedia.org/printer/2008/20080328134800.aspx

Obama’s other two priorities were domestic. He told the audience his administration would push to make sure every American should have health insurance, even if it means taxpayer money.

“Number two, I want to put forward legislation that would give every American health care,” Obama said.

Obama said that since premiums are high, people aren’t going to the doctor and that was costing more in the long-run.

“If you don’t have health care, we’ll set up a plan similar to the one I have as a member of Congress,” Obama said, “You can buy into it, we’ll subsidize it if you can’t afford it and you won’t be excluded for preexisting conditions. The point is everybody should have the kind of health care that over the long-term will save us cost because if you’re getting regular check-ups, you’re staying healthier and we’re reducing obesity and heart disease and those kinds of things, then the bill will be lower over the long-term. So that’s the second thing.”

He didn’t address the estimated cost of such a proposal.

The reporters who are to report the news seemed to love his speech. Is it any wonder why the coverage is so glowing and flattering to the messiah?

Media Cheers Obama Speech
@ 11:00 pm by Andy Barr
Several members of the media were seen cheering and clapping for Barack Obama as the Illinois senator accepted the Democratic nomination Thursday.

Standing on the periphery of the football field serving as the Democratic convention floor, dozens of men and women wearing green media floor passes chanted along with the crowd.

Two members of the foreign press exchanged opportunities to take each other's picture while wearing an Obama hat and waving a flag.

Several others nearby screamed "woo" during some of Obama's biggest applause lines.

i seem to recall the dems screaming for homeland security and more of it especially at the ports.....that was a bipartisan creation if anything and a perfectly reasonable response to being attcked.....one has to wonder why it wasn't done 8 years earlier considering us assests had been attacked 1/2 a dozen times by the group that ultimately atacked us on 9/11.....

having a secure phone line is a civil right....really.....where does it say that.....

I wasn't wrong. Show me where the Republicans have done anything to reduce the size of the government or taxes. First of all, their own rhetoric was that the tax cuts would stimulate the economy and INCREASE tax revenues. In other words, they ARE for more taxes and BIGGER government.

As for secure phone lines... a good place for you to start might be the 4th Amendment.

Tax cuts have a history of increasing revenues. People are paying more because they are making more due to an increased economic activity

I won't argue that because I agree with it. But, the Republican Party (at least those in power today) has proven that it is for bigger government rather than lower taxes and smaller government.

In this respect, the Republican Party is no different than the Democratic Party.

Republcians were fired in 2006 for big spending. I agreed with the vote

Now we have some conservatives speaking up, and I hope they learned their lesson

Dems will rape the shit out of the producers if they get the chance

I'm not so sure that the Republicans have learned their lessons. If they look at how they lost, and who beat them, they might draw the conclusion that they should have pushed for more liberal policies and even bigger government.

Unfortunately, George W. Bush claimed to be a conservative as well. I suppose he simply forgot to tell us that he was a Neo-con? I pray that Gov. Palin is a true conservative.

He didn't have the record of actually creating a smaller government and lowering property taxes 60% for her constituency.

Palin actually is a conservative.

So it seems. Like I said earlier. I like what I see with her, at first glance. I just can't stand McCain.
