Yesterday, at work, I took care of a little lady. She's 74 has a tracheostomy and a PEG, is bed ridden and is vent dependent, and she has absolutely no one. No family, she's buried all of her friends, no one...and came to the CCU from a nursing home. She is alert and completely aware and understanding about her situation and circumstances.

Regardless of your faith, keep her in your prayers...please. I will.

I'm not religious. But can you please let the lady know that I am thinking of her and I am wishing her well, as lame as that sounds. I know I'm a stranger from a country far away but we're connected simply by being human beings. You've done good.

This happends more than it should. I always feel for older people with no family or friends to help them out when they're in need.

A Buddhist Healing prayer...

Just as the soft rains fill the streams,
pour into the rivers, and join together in the oceans,
so may the power of every moment of your goodness
flow forth to awaken and heal all beings–
those here now, those gone before, those yet to come.

By the power of every moment of your goodness,
may your heart’s wishes be soon fulfilled
as completely shining as the bright full moon,
as magically as by a wish-fulfilling gem.

By the power of every moment of your goodness,
may all dangers be averted and all disease be gone.
May no obstacle come across your way.
May you enjoy fulfillment and long life.

For all in whose heart dwells respect,
who follow the wisdom and compassion, of the Way,
may your life prosper in the four blessings
of old age, beauty, happiness and strength.

Your compassion is a breath of fresh air in this world, Bully. I will certainly pray for her. If it is comfortable for you, tell her there are many people who are doing so.

I'm with you, BP! Seen it and know how it feels...I'm with you, the lady too.

I certainly will.

You are doing God's work with this woman, and other such patients. Kudoes, BP.

Thank you, one and all. If she's still in the hospital tomorrow, I'll let her know she's not alone.

AS so often happens...she was transferred out of CCU and discharged back to the nursing home she came from. But thank you all.
