I'm not sure if many of you were interested in keeping up with news of my little niece, Victoria, but she had her kidney transplant yesterday. Now, for the first time since she was a couple weeks old, she is peeing again! So, her daddy's kidney is working just fine in her! Thanks be to God!

:D

she's having a few problems now. Her father is doing very well, physically. But, Victoria is vomiting, her belly is distended, and she is running a fever. She was also suffering withdrawl symptoms from the sedatives she had been given. We're pretty worried about her right now. :(

oh noo...gosh, it seems like one thing after another. Mom must have a head full of gray hair and several stomach ulcers to match...

Victoria's kidney has fluid backed up in it. :( This could potentially kill the kidney. They thought it would absorb on its own, but it isn't.

Why? What is causing the back-up, rejection or is it failing?

The baby is making wet diapers, so the kidney is working. I don't think they even know why there is this fluid in there. Or, they aren't telling my sister if they do know. :(

My money is on "they don't know" and they don't want to speculate without having a distinct idea of the cause.

My prayers are of course with y'all....

Victoria, you have been through so much in such a short time. May our Lord wrap His arms around you and heal you, and bring your parents peace.
