If I understand you right, you feel that the 'Republicans' have in reality become right wing Democrats. You want 'conservatives', which the Republicans are not offering currently.

So you are working for electing far left Democrats, in the hope that will lead to Republicans getting back to conservationism. What seems obvious to me, you have left the door open to not only failing to achieve that hope, but providing an argument against it.

you do have a point. and honestly, your point about obama winning being a turning point for repubs is not entirely invalid. it has merit. however, i am not sure i want to risk 4-8 years of obama. then again, i am not convinced that mccain would reduce government. how government has grown under bush is disgusting. add a racial element, and if having obama win shuts up the racist left, yay. i would not vote for him based solely on that though.

It's being used by the McCain-Palin handlers as one, that's why they persuaded this obviously unwilling kid to come to the convention and pretend he's actually her ha-ha "fiancee." She's now seven months pregnant: what's holding him up? This kid's unwillingness to marry Bristol is presumably one of the reasons why people have become very dubious about Palin and her many, many family disasters.

Everybody carries on about "oh-how-awful" when Brittney Spears' sister gets preggers, and then it's supposed to be somehow wonderful that this Bristol kid gets pregnant at the same time her mother is still carrying a Down's syndrome infant at 44 years of age? My wife and I have three between us, all girls, all over the age of sixteen. While we have never had to face the issue of teen pregnancy, we have had our share of troubles with our oldest. The other two are responsible and trustworthy. All have been raised in essentially the same manner, yet still one has made different choices. Sometimes it's not the parenting. Sometimes it's the kid.

I guess because of having faced my share of trouble with a kid, and having done my fair share of looking back and soul searching, I opt not to question the parenting skills of others, knowing instead that sometimes, no matter how hard you try, a kid will make a bad decision.

I guess because of having faced my share of trouble with a kid, and having done my fair share of looking back and soul searching, I opt not to question the parenting skills of others, knowing instead that sometimes, no matter how hard you try, a kid will make a bad decision.

Here's to hoping yours always do the right thing, hoping my younger two continue on the path they're on, and hoping my oldest finds her way. :cheers2:

You see I know that all kids do some bad shit at 1 point or another in their life, lord knows i've done some crap that i'm ashamed of and that brought ridicule upon my parents, the difference is my parents weren't giving speeches to others on personal and social responsibility, abstinence etc. etc. while their kid was out screwing around.

I think Mrs. Wasilla should get her nest in order before she gets involved publicly in order to lend herself credibility. Right now she is about as credible on all subjects as Charles Manson.

Mrs. Wasilla has no leg to stand on with concern to social conservatism. You cannot preach abstinence and personal responsibility while your own nest is upside down........and yes, what your children do and how they act, regardless of age reflects directly upon you the parent.
It certainly does matter what age they are, I take it yours haven't hit that age yet. Heck even jr. high kids have been known to make elaborate plans to fool many sets of 'responsible parents' and they can't even get in a car.

Sure they have! More likely is they see McCain putting presidential politics first, see that he is unable to do two things at once(with his advanced age who can blame him) and see that he is extremely weak on the economy. By all accounts he uttered narely a word at the big summit yesterday.

No, the noise is coming from the Dems. They announced there was an agreed bi-partisan plan, but there wasn't. From what I can tell, the Dems took the administration plan, added what they wanted without much dissent from the administration, including things like including ACORN into the recipients of largess, and called it a 'done deal.' Of course they have the votes to pass it, but the House Republicans made it clear they wouldn't vote for it. So it would be the Bush/Democrat plan.

McCain came at the behest of those wanting to get the Republicans on board, obviously the Dems didn't like what might happen if there was a meltdown after the 'bailout.' Then Obama came too, raised issues in the meeting that totally polarized the talks. Out went everyone, Democratic Congressional leadership pale. They had to put a spin and there we are.

Right now things look down for McCain, but with an issue of this magnitude, it's not going away. There will be discussion, leaks of what happened.

For some reason, I have avoided this thread for several days, but today I decided to read it. I have a couple of comments.

You make zero sense, let me see if I can help you. The Repubs are currently liberal and running a lib for president even though its base is very conservative, the candidate does not carry the beliefs or has even endorsed even a fraction of the conservative agenda................and you think once elected he is magically going to change?

Heck no, I don't think he is going to change. But quite frankly, I think you should look at the reality of the situation and realize that conservatives lost this election earlier this year. I'd have to say maybe even before that. One might even claim we lost it four years ago when we let George Bush represent us a second time around.

It is over and we should have started picking ourselves up by our bootstraps on January 21, 2005 rather than wait until a new nominee came along. It's too darned late now.

The Republicans or more accurately conservatives are not going to reorganize simply because John McCain loses this election. It will take more than that. Worse than that, if Barack Obama is elected our voice may very well be drowned out for another 8 years. At least if McCain wins our voices may not be silenced by the government.

I'm not voting for McCain, unless things change significantly in the next month with my view on Obama, but I am praying Obama does not win the election. If he does, then life will go on, but America as we know it will be at risk.

I'd have to disagree with you here. Just because she has agreed to serve underneath "Johnny Lib" doesn't make her a lib herself. True as VP she won't have any pull in the government, but this is a step in the right direction for her. People serve underneath other "leaders" whom they do not agree with all the time. That does not make those who serve the same as those whom they serve.
