The Text of the Logan Act:

§ 953. Private correspondence with foreign governments.
Any citizen of the United States, wherever he may be, who, without authority of the United States, directly or indirectly commences or carries on any correspondence or intercourse with any foreign government or any officer or agent thereof, with intent to influence the measures or conduct of any foreign government or of any officer or agent thereof, in relation to any disputes or controversies with the United States, or to defeat the measures of the United States, shall be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than three years, or both.
This section shall not abridge the right of a citizen to apply himself, or his agent, to any foreign government, or the agents thereof, for redress of any injury which he may have sustained from such government or any of its agents or subjects.
1 Stat. 613, January 30, 1799, codified at 18 U.S.C. § 953 (2004).

Even with a generous reading, I can't see how Obama's support for this tyrant would violate the Logan act. At least not unless there was some US in the election that I dont know about. The law was designed to keep people from representing the United States that contradict US aims and policies.

Even if there was a violation, this act has never actually been enforced. The history indicates there was one person every indicted on this and he was not ultimately prosecuted. There are even questions on the statutes constitutionality, but its never really been enforced so the issue was never brought before the Court.

However, while he was not violating the Logan act, as i can see, Obama has a lot of explaining why he was supporting an oppressve man. A man who wanted to enact Sharia law when elected. A man who, when he lost, began inciting muslims in his country to violence aganst Christians.

I say we hang this rock around his neck and see if he can stay afloat.

Very Interesting! It will fall on deaf ears however!
