View Full Version : New Poll - Even 44%-43%

theHawk

Looks like the used car salesman can't close the deal.

The poll, which found Obama at 44 percent and McCain at 43 percent, supports what some Republicans and Democrats privately have said in recent days: that the race narrowed after the third debate as GOP-leaning voters drifted home to their party and McCain's "Joe the plumber" analogy struck a chord.

Three weeks ago, an AP-GfK survey found that Obama had surged to a seven-point lead over McCain, lifted by voters who thought the Democrat was better suited to lead the nation through its sudden economic crisis.

The contest is still volatile, and the split among voters is apparent less than two weeks before Election Day.

I think the more people actually start to believe the shitbag socialist will become President, the more terrified they get. Are people starting to come to their senses? Not to mention Bidens gaffe promising a terrorist attack in 6 months.

What? You ignore the fact there are many polls (in fact, all others than the one in contention at this time) that reflect differently. You reduce them all to "the other one" and you somehow expect respect for anything you have to say on this subject?

I thought that WAS my point....

most of the polls you see are "weighted"....in other words they call more people of one party than the other to keep in line with registered voters (think ACORN).....in light of the fact we all agree most of the ACORN registrants won't actually be voting, the polls will give an advantage to Obama which won't appear on election day.....

therefore, my point is that almost all polls are inaccurate....

We know polls usually tighten as election day nears. Now, does this mean McCain is gaining on Obama's tax plan and Ayers - or is this normal?

Obama has a history of not closing the deal, or are people who are unsure about Obama breaking to McCain?

I find it very telling that with the liberal media giving Obama nonstop glowing coverage, their constant attacks on Palin and McCain, the current economic issues, Obama is not up by 20 points in every poll

The polls on the popular vote vary widely.

But what is much more relevant is that Obama either leads or is running neck and neck in each of the battleground states.

As I understand it, given the states that are safely in Obama's column and the states that are safely in McCain's column, McCain has to win every one of the battleground states to reach 270 electoral votes, whereas Obama only has to win one of them.

If McCain loses Florida or Ohio or Virginia or any of the other battleground states, it's all over.

For all of your righties predicting that President Obama will turn the US into a socialist state, here is....

GW in Ohio's Politics 101

No matter what the president's background is, once he is in office he invariably governs from the center. Richard Nixon and George W. Bush are two examples of conservatives who implemented liberal policies once in office (e.g., Nixon opening the door to relations with China and Bush outspending any Democratic administration).

Look at Bill Clinton. After the GOP Congress smacked him repeatedly starting in '94, he behaved like a frickin' Republican for the balance of his term.

Reagan was something of an exception to this rule, but even he was forced to make concessions to the Democratic Congress in order to gain approval for his military budgets.

Obama will govern as a liberal centrist.

How friggin brainwashed do you have to be to vote for a party that is telling you they are going to take much more of your hard earned money, but it's for your own good..

amazing.

Here's the second installment of....

GW's American Politics 101

All you righties complaining that Obama will raise taxes....

Where do you think the government gets the money to carry on essential functions, as well as non-essential functions?

Anybody?

From taxes, Very good.

Where do you think the money to run an obscenely expensive and obscenely stupid war in Iraq comes from?

Do you really think it's a good idea to cut taxes, as McCain wants to do, when we are $trillions in debt, and when we still have people in Iraq?

What is it about you rightwads? You want to carry on Bush's idiotic war but you don't want to be asked to pay for it.

Your man Bush went on a spending spree the last 8 years that put any liberal Democrat to shame. Yet you want a tax cut? Do you want to push that debt on to your children and your grandchildren?

Or are you just spreading lies because you have no truth to share?!?!?!?!?!?!?!

Eisenhower was the last Republican President that exhibited any understanding of low/middle class economic interests and the rise in the standard of living amongst them during his tenure prove that fact. Since then the only economic factors that have increased average standards amongst middle/low incomers has come during or as a result of Democratic administrations.
