Now that she has shed the millstone from around her neck (the liberal John McCain), she has continued to show the elegance that thrust her to the political stage when she introduced herself the America after accepting the VP nomination.

Palin Urges Republican Governors to Stick to GOP's Bedrock Values
Sarah Palin begins her rise from the failed McCain presidential campaign's ashes Thursday at the Republican Governors Association conference in Miami.

Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin said Thursday the Republican Governors Association is committed to returning to the bedrock values of the party after a battering in the Nov. 4 election left Republicans in a weakened state across the nation.

"Let us resolve not to become the negative party, too eager to find fault or unwilling to help in this time of crisis and war," she told the gathering Thursday. "Losing an election does not have to mean losing our way, and for governors, the way forward leads through our own state capitals in reforms we will carry on or begin anew."

Palin, whose vice presidential nomination led to her being cast as one of the GOP's rising stars, told reporters ahead of the group's plenary session that she's not thinking about her personal ambitions but putting the country back on the conservative track.

"As far as we're concerned, the past is the past, it's behind us," she said. "And I, like all of our governors, we're focused on the future. And the future for us is not that 2012 presidential race. It's next year, and our next budgets and the next reforms in our states, and it's 2010 when we'll have 36 governors' positions open across the U.S."

You know, Ive been thinking, we dont need someone to be the next Reagan. We need someone to be better than Reagan. We need someone who, when their Presidency is over, will be the new standard for the conservative movement in the modern age.

The next Reagan? Not bloody likely. Reagan knew Africa wasn't a country and could talk without using the word-salad, a sign of disorganized thought processes, which Palin prefers. AS for continuing Reagan's legacy, the Bush administration was it's logical conclusion...and we see it for the failure it is.

Now if y'all want to try and elect Caribou Barbie as POTUS in 2012, you go right ahead and die on that hill, and I'll be happy to see you do it. :laugh2:

Palin who goes to a witch doctor's church

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jl4HIc-yfgM#

While living in Kenya, Thomas Muthee, who has given sermons at Palin's church in Wasilla, made his reputation as a "witch hunter/doctor" He decided some poor woman was a witch and hounded her out of town.

<blockquote>"We prayed, we fasted, the Lord showed us a spirit of witchcraft resting over the place," Muthee says...

...According to the Christian Science Monitor, six months of fervent prayer and research identified the source of the witchcraft as a local woman called Mama Jane, who ran a "divination" center called the Emmanuel Clinic...

...Says the Monitor, "Muthee held a crusade that 'brought about 200 people to Christ.'" They set up around-the-clock prayer intercession in the basement of a grocery store and eventually, says the pastor, "the demonic influence -- the 'principality' over Kiambu -- was broken," and Mama Jane fled the town.

According to accounts of the witch hunt that circulated on evangelical Web sites such as Prayer Links Ministries, after Muthee declared Mama Jane a witch, the townspeople became suspicious and began to turn on her, demanding that she be stoned. Public outrage eventually led the police to raid her home, where they fired gunshots, killing a pet python they believed to be a demon. - <a href=http://www.alternet.org/election08/99118/sarah_palin_linked_her_electoral_success_to_prayer _of_kenyan_witch_hunter/>AlterNet</a></blockquote>

Crrrrrazy man.

Obviously you don't understand that a guest speaker at a church does not make a person someone's pastor. So there's the first flaw in your claim. You also don't understand the term witch doctor. A witch doctor, according to good old Webster's, is a professional worker of magic usually in a primitive society who often works to cure sickness. A witch hunter which you reference in your follow up post might be a more likely stretch. And the final flaw, imo, is a lack of understanding for other cultures. I read in your quote that the man prayed, believed he heard from God and continued to pray. I did not read that he was a part of the "witch hunt" as you termed it or a part of the local police force, so....

I'm guessing you feel that Obama's connection to Acorn and Ayers was grossly exaggerated?

When I worked as a psych nurse, I dealt with people every day who thought they "heard from God"...we call them schizophrenics and/or delusional.

I never said he was Caribou Barbie's pastor, and your splitting of semantic hairs shows how empty your counter-points are.

Let's talk semantics...I was a little ahead of myself. You said "Palin who goes to a witch doctor's church". A guest speaker does not own, run or possess the church to which she attends.

As for your schizophrenics...you need to broaden your circles...there are MANY people in America who believe they hear from God and are in no uncertain times perfectly mentally healthy. While you're entitled to your opinion on their mental health, a lack of mental illness diagnosises holds more weight for me than what you think.

As for wet behind the ears...let me know if you ever want to compare IQ scores or life experiences.

Let's travel down our little semantic road a bit farther, shall we? In primitive societies witch doctors not only heal the sick, they call on the supernatural forces they claim to have at their beck and call, to protect those who come to them seeking protection from harm or misfortune.

Transplant such practices to a modern society...Have you ever watched Benny Hinn, or others of his fellow travelers, perform "healings" at their revivals? Same thing...

And did you watch that little video clip of the Rev. Muthee calling upon God to protect Palin from "witchcraft"? Witch-doctoring in Christian clothing.

Indeed, there are many who claim to here God speaking to them, yet are otherwise healthy and sane. The difference being they do not act on that voice to the detriment of themselves or others, as the good Rev. Muthee did.

And to the last point. Palin's Pastor, and by extension Sarah Palin herself, obviously shares more than a few of Rev. Muthee's extreme religious views. Otherwise he would not be sharing the pulpit. What matter then the ownership, possession or management of the church in question.

Buh-Bye now.

She comes across as a genuine person whom you would trust to do what is right. I believe she is also smart and has a great future ahead. Of course she has made an occasional mistake when talking to the press, but who doesn't? I am not sure if the time is right or if she is the right person to run in 2012 but there will certainly be a role for her to play.

What threatens liberals about her is that she is a strong woman who doesn't fit the angry, man-hating feminist that has unfortunately become the "ideal" woman in their eyes. She is powerful yet attractive, dresses like a dignified woman, takes care of her family and is pro-life for all. They can't believe a modern woman can do all of those things.

It's interesting the way the Democrats like BP, believe this is a new age of leftist ideology. Considering the collapse of the financial market and the subsequent bailout, it is shocking Dems didn't do better.

After 4 our years of Obama, the Oval Office will belong to whoever the Republicans nominate. That's why we need to be sure we nominate a good conservative, as close to Reagan as possible.

Wow, you really ARE unhinged. You wanna take a deep breath and provide something to back up your assertions, like links to objective, independently verifiable sources?

Standard Bullyshit demand even though you never provide independent verifiable sources to backup your assertions......... typical, hypocritical, bedpan drinking, liberal asswipe.

Back to the topic (before BP tries to derail it again)

Obama will certainly make Jimmy Carter happy not to have his title as worst President anymore!!

I hope Michael Steel is RNC Chairman and sets fire to the base in that direction.

And Sarah Palin isn't going away - she doesn't run from a fight or a challenge - and there is alot of house cleaning to do to get the GOP back to where it should be. She's the woman to do it and she certainly has the fire.

OK, so your standard reply to the truth is call the other person unhinged, instead of disproving anything that person said. I got it. Real impressive -

Don't assume that we all want or actually need a Harvard educated lawyer in the Oval Office. That's the last thing I want in the Oval Office--a double-talking, get-the-guilty-murderer/rapist-off-on-a-technicality attorney.

Of the four individuals who ran on both tickets, Gov Plain came off as the most 'connected' to people like me, my neighbors, & the folks I work with (with a few execptions)

She very clearly stands by her convictions. Which I find very admirable in a leader.

I do not believe she is dumb, and the campaign should have let her loose to speak to the folks

The media-who shamelessly drooled all over themselves promoting the messiah, while trashing Ms. Palin, have their own agenda to promote, and it obviously is NOT objectivity.

They are still trashing her, and the race is over--What are they afraid of? America actually making a decision based on facts?

Some people can handle the truth, some can't. Looks like you can't. And thanks for giving me a good example of just what kind of a jackass you can be. I'll remember that.

You called the post below "unhinged." Now instead of being a jerk, please point out to me the parts that aren't true...

So what. As if those tiny little go nowhere tid bits meant anything to anybody. Now look at who you libs elected. You elected a terrorist loving, convicted slum lord associate, racist church goer for twenty years who wants to spread the wealth around but lets his blood brother live in Africa in a filthy little hut on less than a dollar a month, no experience cherry. What you mentioned about Palin and Jindal pales in comparison. Obviously you'll have to do better than that. People don't and won't care. But, what conservatives will care about is, that Palin and Jindal are good conservatives, and they can bring home the conservative vote, and that scares the hell out of you libs, because once the conservative vote is solidified behind one ticket, it always wins, and it will.

nah, a friend of ayers is much better...much better to have a prez that associates with people who have committed terrorism against the US and are not repentent and wish more damage would have been committed....

perhaps you identify with that

Sarah Palin didn't even understand the constitutional limitations of the office she was running for and couldn't openly explain her views on gay marriage in a debate. She could be the next somebody, but if the republican party ever does split in two, it would most likely be the head of the kind we saw during this election...

Meaning the differences and crossover between executive and legislative branches?

Discuss what? Sarah Palin? ;) Thank you for the welcome.

I watched the debate and my jaw fell to the floor. I understand what she said could have been taken for a little ride by Biden, but she clearly didn't understand the role she was suppose to play. I also had an issue with her not being able to talk openly about her stance of gay marriage. She just avoided it. Opinions are a personal matter, unless you are in the position to do something about them...if that's what you were referring to...

Sadly, there is some truth in what you say. HOWEVER, I believe the federal government should stay out of the "gay marriage" issue and let each state make their own laws as it pertains to their constituents. So, I have no problem with her leaving the issue alone.

You can add that to my list from the right wing left wing post:
anti-same sex marriages, but I voted against making marriage "one man and one woman" in our state constitution. It is NOT a constitutional issue, imo.

The only "cross-over" between the Executive and Legislative branches is as follows:

<blockquote>The Vice President of the United States shall be President of the Senate, but shall have no Vote, unless they be equally divided. - <a href=http://www.usconstitution.net/const.html♦>Article I, Sec 4, US Constitution</a></blockquote>

BP, in the VP debate it was BIDEN woh did not know which Article in the Constitution covered the duties of the VP

Which is fine, since most Obama voters did not even know which party was running Congress

Seems actual knowledge is not important to liberals anymore - just feelings and emotions
