I love them! They can be prepared many ways. Some of my favorites are the patty melt, carmelized yellow onions, swiss cheese and rye bread. Also I really like what is called a Goo burger on a local menu, hamburger patty with grilled pineapple and a smoky barbque sauce, messy but good.
Anybody else have some favorites?

No, no, no... the perfect burger has to be uncorrupted. Lettuce and Tomato, mayo on top, ketchup on bottome.

I like green leaf on a burger.

Not the condiments J..The burger itself is what I’m talking about.
If it's not a 'good' burger to start with it never will be..Like a chuck steak vs a filet.

Good point, a good quality burger will be from ground chuck. Beware of all-ground or pure beef, such ground beef will contain lickers and tickers.

oh... I agree! For junk food burgers, I like BK and Wendy's. For a big greasy burger, I like Jackson Hole, but for the really good stuff, I like the filet mignon burgers at Union Square Cafe, NYC, Peter Luger's Burger and the ones at Balthazar in Soho.
But none are as good as mine. ;)

I'd NEVER grind filet for a burger! Anyone that does should be shot on the spot! Along with the folks that use Ketchup on a steak and the ones that order WELL DONE too. :wink2:

Try the filet burger before you knock it. lol.. Me? I use sirloin when I make them, though. I used to eat burgers cremated.... now at least I order medium well.
Steak? I only like filet mignon. :p

Acutally that really is a misuse of a filet. Beef filet does not contain enough fat that a burger should have, filets typically do not have much flavor, it is relatively unused muscle with little or no marbeling. But on a menu it can be marketed well and used as an upcharge, there are portions of the filet that cannot be used as a steak so such a use does make sense.

Really, I do like filet, but I like a New York strip better.
I order my burgers, medium.

Honestly I can't quite remember your method. From what I remember I believe it was similar to what I typically do. It seems like you concentrated the beef flavor by doing a dry age technique on the roast. The seasoning was about the same.

The best burger is of course my own. And now that y'all got me hungry, I must go.
I like the double cheeseburger from McDonald's.:wink2:
Nah, of course the best burgers are homemade. When I make burgers, I usually sautee some mushrooms in butter and diced garlic, then have mushroom & swiss burgers.

The Ram makes some great burgers. So does Fuddruckers.
My favorite combo is a medium-cooked burger with ketchup, chipotle mayo, salsa, guacamole, and pepperjack cheese.
