I would like to take this opportunity to let everyone know that Justin's father passed away this afternoon at 1:30. He will be sorely missed by our community.

Not only was he a veteran police officer but he was the D.A.R.E officer for 20 years. He was one of the kindest gentlest people, he inspired so many students and parents to always do the right thing. His programs were very unique and he touched and helped so many lives

He always had a smile on his face and a kind word for EVERYONE, he treated all with respect and honor. I could go on forever with the praises of this great man.

The outpouring of love and sadness at his untimely passing in our community is hard to imagine.

I only ask that you think of Justin (Monkeybone) this holiday season!

Please send him my condolences. This has been a bad year for losing fathers. My FIL, Yurt's dad, now Justin's. Kathianne's not too long ago, either.

I'm so sorry that this happened so quickly, at least from my perspective. Please pass along my condolences to Justin. I know it must be hard on you as well to lose someone who seemed to be a great person. I'll continue to keep all of you in my thoughts and prayers.

Having very recently experienced the loss of my own father, I know the grief you must be feeling. I honestly do not have words enough to express my condolences. My very best to you and yours.

Justin, my condolences. Your family is in my prayers. As Abbey wrote, it's been just over a year since the loss of my father, the hole is still here.

I'm certain though, that when you've had some time, we'd appreciate hearing how his brothers from the force helped see him out. I had an uncle that was a Commander in Chicago and my brother is Deputy Chief of Police in a suburb of Chicago. When my father passed, all from my brother's department made the wake and for the funeral provided an escort. Nothing but green lights. Nearly every police department in the suburbs of Chicago sent a representative. Now that was for a relative, not a policeman.

My uncle passed a few months ago, over 90 years old, retired almost 30 years. Well Chicago is BIG. The wake was standing room only and a huge turnout at funeral. The cemetery was in the suburbs, no problem. Chicago police stopped traffic at all intersections, lined with policemen from the gate to the chapel. There were bagpipes and horses to lead to the site of burial, even though my aunt couldn't do so. They saw their 'brother' laid to rest. It said a lot for my uncle, more even for the force.

May God bring you comfort and my prayers are with you and yours.
