LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) - A warning from Metro Police about your Christmas deliveries: Don't leave packages unattended.
Monday afternoon, a neighbor in Lake Forest spotted two juveniles grabbing packages off front porches. The neighbor got a license plate number from the suspects' car. Police say when the teens realized they were being followed, they began throwing the packages out of the car.
Police tracked down the juveniles, who allegedly hit 25 houses in the area, and found most of the items: from IPod's to Kate Spade purses and even the Barack Obama coin set.
"They were looking for gifts for their family and friends. They were actually going to give these gifts to their family members," said Sgt. Tim Burkett, of LMPD's Eighth Division, headquartered in Middletown.
Police say the suspects, who also live in the Metro's east end, will face felony charges.
