on 12-13-08 the town of Bastogne, Belgium remembers the horrific dec 44 battle. 16 December 1944 – 25 January 1945 including a re enactment

fighting each other and horrible winter weather as the death toll rises.

the town has a nickname. "nuts city" for famous reply to surrender from General Tony McAuliffe. I never knew that

sitting here in my warm home with snow and freezing temps outside I can't even imagine the horrific sacrifice that was made. a salute to them all - both sides

That's where my Grandpa spent Christmas that year. He was one of the "Battling Bastards of Bastogne".

Looks like hell on earth! War and military bases are always located where the weather sucks worse than any other place on earth.

where ever there's a war its either to hot or to cold.
