The week before Christmas and the week after are great times for friends and family, we should all enjoy them.
But those few days before Christmas often are times when politicians drop bomblets they hope will defuse themselves over the coming 10 days or so, so it goes with the news about Richardson (http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2008/12/16/grand-jury-investigates-pay-play-dealings-involving-calif-firm-gov-richardson/) and that Obama and a couple of his top administrators in waiting were interviewed by the FBI (http://blogs.telegraph.co.uk/toby_harnden/blog/2008/12/23/rod_blagojevich_scandal_a_ticking_bomb_for_rahm_em anuel). The stories were reported, once, and Obama took off for Hawaii, appearing for a photo op with troops (http://blogs.abcnews.com/politicalpunch/2008/12/obama-visits-ma.html) stationed there. Emanuel, he took off for 4 weeks in Africa. Of course, they have all the time in the world to get ready for 1/20.
