Iran president: 'Not feasible' for Israel to live

Jan 15, 11:23 PM (ET)

CAIRO, Egypt (AP) - A top Israeli envoy delivered his country's stance on a cease-fire agreement in Gaza to Egyptian mediators trying to seal a truce on Thursday. The Iranian president said the fighting showed Israel's continued existence in the region is "not feasible."

The development came as the U.N. Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon pressed Israel on a cease-fire, and Gulf leaders gathered in Saudi Arabia to discuss the conflict.

Meanwhile, Israeli troops pushed deeper into densely populated Gaza City on the 20th day of the offensive to rout out Hamas militants. Israeli tanks shelled the crowded downtown, sending terrified residents fleeing for cover.

An Israeli airstrike Thursday evening killed prominent Hamas figure Said Siam, and witnesses and U.N. officials said Israeli shells struck the United Nations headquarters building that serves as a shelter for hundreds of people, setting it ablaze.

The un wants Israel to cease fire so hamas can be rearmed. It's hard for them to schedule deliveries when Israel keeps blowing up the storage points. And dog gone, those Israeli's went and killed a prominent hamas leader in spite of all those kids around him.

How many un headquarters and schools do they have in gaza?

It's obvious, isn't it?

Israel just needs to disband their armed forces, and everything will be alright

Does israel really think that by killing 1100 and injuring more than 5000 people- that this will bring it security and peace? Please answer that.

Israel will never have peace, until it ends occupation. why the fuck is it taking them so long to realize that concept.

Did you bother to read the title of this thread - or the link provided?

From the link:

In Tehran, Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad said the fighting in Gaza has been "a great lesson for all," saying it shows "the absolute defeat and desperation of this (Israeli) regime."

He says that "even for the supporters of the occupying regime and its leaders, it has become clear that the continuation of the Zionist regime's life in the region is not feasible."

The only way Israel will have peace with their enemies will be if Israel ceases to exist

If israel ended its illegal occupation and stopped its massacres. Then im very sure ahmedinejad will come hug the israeli PM. Its not rocket science, end occupation and show some respect and human dignity- and im sure israel will become a friend of the arab world. at the moment, it deserves to be hated within the region. Its a terror state with no morality or adherence to international law.

Palestinians deserve what they get. They've earned it. They kick families out their homes and occupy them in Lebanon. They trash the homes while they are there just for good measure. They occupied one home for 7 years and left the family homeless.

There will not be any "peace" until one side wipes out the other. Its just a matter of who has the balls to do it first.

what illegal occupation? The UN, in order to fill the void of power left by removal of the British, voted that the area be divided into two separate nations.

Israel was established. The Palestinian state never was (mainly because every arab state in the region decided to attack Israel instead)

The rest is history. Israel trounced the invaders, seized pretty much everything, and the losers have been complaining about the illegal occupation ever since, ignoring the first rule of war... the winners make the rules!

Palestinians deserve what they get. They've earned it. They kick families out their homes and occupy them in Lebanon.A bit overbroad in my opinion, and ignores the fact that Lebanon was pretty much in a state of civil war for 20 odd years. There are countless abuses from both sides of the conflict in that country. Today Palestinians have almost no civil rights in Lebanon, and are some of the worst treated of all the Palestinian people anywhere. At least in West Bank and Gaza they have a small bit of self rule.

With Palestinians so widely separated into different non-connecting areas (Lebanon, Gaza Strip, West Bank, not to mention Syria and Egypt) its a bit much to portray the abuses of one group in one nation the same for all of them anyway today. Palestinians themselves have two primary ruling political parties which often fight each other as well.

In the end, they are pretty much just pawns that have been used by larger powers (Egypt, Syria, Iran) over the years.
