Everyone ready for the big game? Or does no one care since it's my team?

History will be made either way, whether for the Cardinals and their first championship, or for the Steelers being the first to bring home a 6th.

Anyone in any good pools?

I want it to be a good game, and not a blowout

While I think the Steelers will win, I would like to see the Cardinals win the game (Sorry Jim)

No, the pool I was in ended with the regular season. Did I mention I won 3 weeks and was the overall winner too? ;)

I'm not too excited about the SB, though I do think very highly of Kurt Warner.

Being a 49er fan and a Raider fan (immaculate reception my ass), I have to say that I hope the Stealers get beat. I'm not counting on that, but it is my sincere desire to see the Stealers fall on Sunday. Don't think I hold a grudge, but I sure don't want them to be the first to 6. :D

The Dolphins aren't there so I guess I will have to just hope for a good game, as much as it would be nice to see Kurt get another, it would be just as nice to see the Steeler's get another, guess a good game would be fine by me.

I am rooting for the Cardinal because it would be their first since leaving Chicago. I would not be upset to see the Steelers win it, just so I could goad Cowboys fans with it. I would like to see a good game above all!

P.S.

Jim,
I hope the Steelers plane crashes on their way there!!

I know you are kidding but that is a terrible thing to say. I'm no Stealers fan, but I'd never wish that on any team... well maybe the Cowturds, er no, not even them. :D

Can you just imagine though how bad you'd feel if that actually happened?

Also, FYI they arrived here earilier this week. Can't remember which day it was for sure.

I have gotten a few calls from my friend and bridesmaid Katie, who has been in Tampa since late Wednesday. She has been to Steelers rallies, met various players, had her picture taken with the Steelers QB, and generally had a great time. Katie and her dad were offered $2,000 apiece for their tickets (which she laughed at, even though she is a poor college student) and interviewed by some Phoenix radio station.
Katie's tickets are near the top of the stadium, around the 10 yard line, but I doubt she cares. She has her Steeler's jersey, original Terrible Towel and a stuffed red bird that she has dressed in Pittsburgh colors.
GO STEELERS!!

Steelers up 10-7 with 18 seconds left on the clock at the end of the 2nd Q. Warner passes over the middle and defensive player of the year, James Harrison, picks it off and returns it for a TD to end the half!!!!

Cardinals are looking damn good though and Warner was hitting a groove before that pass. Should be an entertaining 2nd half!

Go Steelers!!

Honestly, I was PISSED when they let Fitzgerald get that long score with 2:30 remaining and didn't have much hope of the Steelers coming back. But Ben showed great poise with the game on the line and Holmes made 2 HUGE catches.

Congrats to the Steelers though on their sixth Lombardi trophy.

Congrats to the Steelers though on their sixth Lombardi trophy.

If Ben didn't miss a wide open Nate Washington in the End Zone, if Justin Hartwig didn't get called for holding in the end zone forcing a safety, if Harrison doesn't get called for a personal foul allowing the Cardinals to continue to score....

Both teams made mistakes and both teams made great plays. All in all, I think they paid for their mistakes and earned their good plays. No excuses or complaints this year.

Believe it or not, I think the Cardinals earned a victory too, but the Steelers had the last go and the experience of Big Ben paid off. Can't rub it in on the Cardinals fans as their team played one hell of a game.

Even though Holmes and James Harrison made big plays, I think MVP honors should have went to Ben. The WR couldn't have made the catches if not for Ben's great scrambling and tosses. And as fantastic of a catch that was that Holmes made, it was an equally perfect pass from Ben.

I too thought Ben should get the nod. While his stats weren't typical of an MVP - his sheer WILL sustained critical drives. He's a helluva QB. :) I've always liked him. The Cards certianly did not embarass.

Cardinals fan in Tampa: I knew the refs would find a way to give the game to the Steelers!
Katie: Don't forget all the money we paid them.

Another Cardinals fan: Why does the NFL hate the Cardinals? They took this game away from us.
Katie: Everyone hates the Cardinals. Including God.

Female Cardinals fan: All you obnoxious Pittsburgh people are surely going to hell for the way you acted today!
Katie: Your husband is already in hell.

Katie's dad said she was on a roll all day. :lmao:
