Wow, didn't realize Beck was now part of Fox. Much better fit for him there, not that I watched his show much.

Obama is not a communist.
He's a socialist.
The difference is small, but it's there.

As Beck said, why stop at just socialism. Go full out to communism.

Obama is as much a communist as I am a staunch Republican.

Figured y'all could use a review of the definitions of the words you're throwin' around like you know what they mean, but really, you don't.

Beck is living, breathing, talking(unfortunately) proof that "Stupid is as stupid does..."

I wouldn't call Obama a communist, by any stretch. However, he does operate under the frame of reference that everything is subject to government regulation.
And Glenn Beck is a tool.

Hasn't the fiasco resulting from the GOP led deregulation of the banking industry demonstrated just how crucial government regulation can be?

uh huh....yeah, had nothing to do with forcing banks to give loans to people who couldn't afford them, nothing at all to do with obama suing to force banks to loan to poor folks...

Government regulations and laws that forced lenders to loan to subprime borrowers is what forced the situation. I will say that I could see the wisdom in the Glass-Steagal Act, which forced commercial and investment banking to remain separate.

No, Jeff, they didn't. Read the article...
<center><a href=http://www.businessweek.com/investing/insights/blog/archives/2008/09/community_reinv.html>Community Reinvestment Act had nothing to do with subprime crisis</a></center>
Unregulated derivatives created when sub-prime mortgages were bundled and sold as sound investments is what "forced" the situation. De-coupling the lenders from the mortgages they issued "forced" the situation. The suspension of banking and finance regulations put in place after the Great Depression, all in the name of modernization, "forced" the situation.

Why didn't Bush veto the bills? Why did the rest of the Republicans in Congress ignore Senator McCain's warnings and vote for the bills? There's plenty of blame to go around, and pretending congressional Republicans didn't dirty their hands here, especially when they controlled both houses, is ignorance whether native or...as in your case...willful.
