I never doubted your intelligence or ability to twist. In fact, I stand in awe. Whatever strengths and weaknesses I have, they are not twisting and distractions.

i think the poll was closed because jim is not going to out mfm/mod dem. i think jim wants us all to stop talking about it, but jim also knows that mfm brings on himself when he continues to use the same insults, use the same initials of rsr's girlfriend.

i know jim said it shouldn't matter, but let me ask you this:

why then does this lying pile of steaming cow dung continue to drop little hints? he has called kathy the same exact insults, used the same exact insults with me, etc...

but somehow this isn't about his credibility. somehow it shouldn't matter. that i don't understand. if the board owner wants to allow someone to change their nick to start over, why then is this "new nick" acting the same exact way, using the same exact insults and telling his exact same personal history?

now that is the question.

...why then is this "new nick" acting the same exact way, using the same exact insults and telling his exact same personal history?

now that is the question.

Keeping in mind that I have no opinion as to the identity of Moderate Democrat, perhaps I can answer this with one of my favorite fables...

The Scorpion and the Frog

One day, a scorpion looked around at the mountain where he lived and decided that he wanted a change. So he set out on a journey through the forests and hills. He climbed over rocks and under vines and kept going until he reached a river.

The river was wide and swift, and the scorpion stopped to reconsider the situation. He couldn't see any way across. So he ran upriver and then checked downriver, all the while thinking that he might have to turn back.

Suddenly, he saw a frog sitting in the rushes by the bank of the stream on the other side of the river. He decided to ask the frog for help getting across the stream.

"Hellooo Mr. Frog!" called the scorpion across the water, "Would you be so kind as to give me a ride on your back across the river?"

"Well now, Mr. Scorpion! How do I know that if I try to help you, you wont try to kill me?" asked the frog hesitantly.

"Because," the scorpion replied, "If I try to kill you, then I would die too, for you see I cannot swim!"

Now this seemed to make sense to the frog. But he asked. "What about when I get close to the bank? You could still try to kill me and get back to the shore!"

"This is true," agreed the scorpion, "But then I wouldn't be able to get to the other side of the river!"

"Alright then...how do I know you wont just wait till we get to the other side and THEN kill me?" said the frog.

"Ahh...," crooned the scorpion, "Because you see, once you've taken me to the other side of this river, I will be so grateful for your help, that it would hardly be fair to reward you with death, now would it?!"

So the frog agreed to take the scorpion across the river. He swam over to the bank and settled himself near the mud to pick up his passenger. The scorpion crawled onto the frog's back, his sharp claws prickling into the frog's soft hide, and the frog slid into the river. The muddy water swirled around them, but the frog stayed near the surface so the scorpion would not drown. He kicked strongly through the first half of the stream, his flippers paddling wildly against the current.

Halfway across the river, the frog suddenly felt a sharp sting in his back and, out of the corner of his eye, saw the scorpion remove his stinger from the frog's back. A deadening numbness began to creep into his limbs.

"You fool!" croaked the frog, "Now we shall both die! Why on earth did you do that?"

The scorpion shrugged, and did a little jig on the drownings frog's back.

"I could not help myself. It is my nature."

Then they both sank into the muddy waters of the swiftly flowing river.

Nailed. I'm trying to do what the owner says he wants. Whether or not the poster is a reincarnation of another or not is not the point. In either case, new poster or reincarnation, it's time to move along. The new poster should back off or face ban threads, when warranted and the old posters should realize they will be thread banned for baiting and calling out.

so then we should ignore this "new" posters hints? this "new" posters insults? when this "new" poster uses the same insults and words and then mocks us for calling him on it, we are to ignore that...

The steel cage is the steel cage when members want to abuse one another like animals and leave the good threads up top intact. And while I intend allowing just about anything to occur - abuse, harassment & family member discussion won't be a part of this board.

It was this and a private matter that lead to a 1 day ban for glock, but ANYONE else who tries to engage another in unwanted discussion about their family members will get the same treatment.

Fight in here, debate up top & leave the filth about family members out of it. It's really, really easy to do, I promise.

In defense of Glock, that fraud asswipe MFM has accused Glock of pedophilia with his son for at least a year. If, like so many people here believe, Moderate Democrat is actually MFM hiding behind a different name and lies, I can certainly understand Glock's actions. MFM tried Retiredman as his screen name but that didn't allow him to be incognito, it replaced his other name on all of his posts, it was obvious. Now we have this "new" poster that is identical in his pathetic posting style, a person that knows things and uses them the way only MFM would. I would like the truth about this person, is he MFM or not. Was Obama born in Kenya or not?

Over the internet? Give me a break.

Agreed. I think one can defend their word and views, and certainly express frustration over something demeaning another has written. But I don't see unsavory comments written to one another being worth fighting, on several boards, for well over a year or more.

The cage was designed as a place to bring remnants of threads that died out due to flaming, and let those who want to avoid that discussion to have an opportunity to do so. We also allow some threads to be created when a user is overly pissed, as I would rather see it in here than spreading like a cancer throughout the board. But that doesn't mean that ALL the rules go out the window, or that this are is off limits to everyone else. The discussion about family members stops in here too.

The cage ceases being the cage when members take advantage of the privilege of posting in here by using it as a means for abuse and/or harassment.
