White House Knocks Jim Cramer For Calling Obama Budget "Greatest Wealth Destruction By a President

NBC's Tom Costello, on duty at the White House today, asked press secretary Robert Gibbs about some comments made by his CNBC colleague Jim Cramer. On the Today show this morning, Cramer called Pres. Obama's budget a "radical agenda," adding, "This is the greatest wealth destruction I've seen by a President."

"I'm not entirely sure what he's pointing to to make some of the statements," said Gibbs. "And you can go back and look at any number of statements he's made in the past about the economy and wonder where some of the back-up for those are too."

When pressed further by Costello, Gibbs said, "If you turn on a certain program it's geared to a very small audience. No offense to my good friends, or friend at CNBC. But the President has to look out for the broader economy and the broader population."

Last month Gibbs had some choice words for Cramer's colleague, Rick Santelli and his criticism of the Obama mortgage plan.

The Democratic Party will soon go into protection mode as the splinters within look to protect their jobs. A lot of old people watch CNBC and they all vote and keep in touch with those in congress!

They don't need a fairness doctrine. They just attack everyone that speaks up against their policies. I wonder when their gestapo will start kicking in doors to silence the opposition, probably right after the gun ban.

I think the Republicans started to splinter the Democrats when they added gun rights onto the DC representation legislation. Nancy was grinning ear to ear that DC would soon have a representative in the House of Representatives but now she can't get her conservatives to remove the gun amendment in the DC bill. The conservative Democrats know if they vote for disasembled guns in locked up cabinets they will be fired in 2010 and as a result DC representation bill has been moved to next week as Nancy twists arms... I'm betting the conservative Democrats will hold fast if they want to be reelected in 2010.
