Free fall and not just in the markets

Chaos
JENNIFER RUBIN - 03.05.2009 - 11:16 PM
Michael Goldfarb reported the latest — almost cringe-inducing – developments surrounding Chas Freeman. What is apparent is that Freeman has run out of supporters and defenders. And who would step forward at this point? He hasn’t disclosed the rudimentary financial data concerning his income. His intemperate email dissing Congressmen is likely just the beginning of the drip-drip-drip of unflattering information — the leakers are out in force. Will Freeman survive his meeting with Sen. Kit Bond? It would seem an exercise in futility to continue – and a needless embarrassment for the administration.

Oh, and the administration lost Sanjay Gupta . And two of Tim Geithner’s potential deputies have backed out.

Other than that, and a 280 point drop in the Dow, everything is going swimmingly.

An observation

Why The O-Drop Outs Are Troubling

I'm having as much fun laughing at the number of people falling away from the Obama administration as everyone else is. Unfortunately there is a troubling side to all this.

It isn't uncommon for people in their situation to take cuts in pay, even put primo careers on hold for a chance like that. And given all the Obama hype, that should be even more of a factor this time out.

That so many are walking away is a sign of something else. It may be a combination of things. But something is very wrong in Obama-land and some number of would be insiders are figuring it out.

my speculation is that the more intelligent Democrats are realizing what Obama's plan is going to do to the economy.....and they aren't willing to be thrown under the bus when the shit comes down......

The Democrats are fracturing little by little... last night Dems and Repb's stopped the porkfest omnibus in its tracks and my guess is the longer this thing lingers the worse it will smell... if it starts stinking down towards Obamaland way at 1600 it will be pronounced dead...
