HA, California has that beat. We are at 10.1% unemployment.

With proper encouragement we could probably show the rest of you how to do it the same way. Silly me I forgot Obama already read that book and is going to show the rest of you how its done.

Just curious, but how is the current unemployment Obama's fault exactly? Please explain, I'd love to hear it.

You Obama haters are as bad as the Bush haters ever were.

I can see blaming this on the democratic congress perhaps (with Bush happily signing their bills), but Obama?

He is the President right. That says it all. It is his policies that are being enacted by Congress. He has been in office since January correct. This is March.

An 8.1% unemployment report comes out, and the President is in Ohio talking about the 25 jobs he saved. Sorry he can't have it both ways, if he is responsible for the saving of the jobs he is responsible for the loss of jobs.

For if he is not responsible for the loss of jobs, then he cannot be responsible for the saving of the jobs.

Tangentially on topic. Illinois, (Chicago) unemployment is higher than national average. One good thing, (albeit selfish), significantly lighter traffic for morning drive. Afternoon? A bit heavier. I'm thinking interviews and such are not starting until after 9am.

Honestly, the media/Obama need to stop with all the doom and gloom. IMHO they're only making matters worse.

The media is supposed to report these things and crisis sells papers. Considering how few they are selling, I'm surprised they aren't going nuclear in headlines.

Now the question in my mind is why the administration keeps giving jitters to the markets. Is it ineptitude or planned chaos?

From the L. A. Times
1. 40% of all workers in L. A. County ( L. A. County has 10.2 million people)are working for cash and not paying taxes. This is because they are predominantly illegal immigrants working without a green card.
2. 95% of warrants for murder in Los Angeles are for illegal aliens.
3. 75% of people on the most wanted list in Los Angeles are illegal aliens.
4. Over 2/3 of all births in Los Angeles County are to illegal alien Mexicans on Medi-Cal , whose births were paid for by taxpayers.
5. Nearly 35% of all inmates in California detention centers are Mexican nationals here illegally
6. Over 300,000 illegal aliens in Los Angeles County are living in garages.
7. The FBI reports half of all gang members in Los Angeles are most likely illegal aliens from south of the border.
8. Nearly 60% of all occupants of HUD properties are illegal.
9. 21 radio stations in L. A. are Spanish speaking.
10. In L. A. County 5.1 million people speak English, 3.9 million speak Spanish.
(There are 10.2 million people in L. A. County . )

(All 10 of the above are from the Los Angeles Times)

Less than 2% of illegal aliens are picking our crops, but 29% are on welfare. Over 70% of the United States ' annual population growth (and over 90% of California , Florida , and New York ) results from immigration. 29% of inmates in federal prisons are illegal aliens.

the stimulus package WILL stimulate the economy. No one ever suggested that the mere act of PASSING the stimulus package would, itself, accomplish the stimulus. GIve the money a chance to start working its way into the system creating jobs and economic activity and then let's judge how well it is working. To condemn it as a failure before it has had a chance to even begin to work is silly.

Libs don't have a clue about basic economics, but they claim they are going to save America through their old tired and tested failures of tax and spend programs.

They don't know how to solve any problems except to throw a hell of a lot of money at it and hope it goes away.

I guess you forgot about the so-called Stimulus Package that was passed.Stimulus package doesn't negatively impact business at all though anytime in the near future, except indirectly via stock prices. And this is the same market that will punish a company for making record profits, but still being below expectations, so sorry if I don't use it as an reliable indicator of what the entire economy is going to do.

Also if the market is plunging, its because they feel the economy is already in too bad shape for the stimulus to work at all. Again, not exactly Obama's fault there. He didn't create this mess.
